 Chess master, Tunde Onakoya’s parents get house gift By Jide Ajia Chessmaster, Tunde Onakoya,  finds himself engulfed in emotions as an unnamed good Samaritan graciously gifted a house to his parents. The development is coming on the heels of Tunde’s breaking of the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon in New York. While the official verdict on Tunde’s record-breaking endeavoir remains pending, the spirit he exhibited throughout the marathon has already won him admiration and acclaim from far and wide. Overwhelmed by the gesture towards his parents, Onakoya took to his X handle to pour out his heartfelt gratitude on Friday. Despite his father’s initial skepticism towards his passion for chess, Onakoya acknowledged his unwavering support in myriad other ways. He wrote, “Today, an angel blessed my parents with a new home.                                                Nigerian Army troops of operation Lafiya Dole and Harbin Kunama II have intensified the tempo of their operations in continuation with the clearance operations of the remnants and fleeing members of Boko Haram terrorists group.The trops of 232 Battalion carried out patrols to Muchalla,Lade and Bodeno villages in order to prevent Boko Haram terrorists infiltration.Similarly,troops in blocking position at Garkida carried out similar exercise in Dzangwalla general area where they neutralized fleeing Boko Haram terrorists.According to the Director Army Public Relations,Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman ''troops of 23 Brigade Support Battalion conducted patrol to KolKol village with the aim of dominating the area and preventing elements of boko haram terrorists infiltrating the area through borders with neighbouring Cameroon.Whereas the troops stationed at Forward Operation Base at Hong have assumed blocking positions in Mararrabar

                 President Muhammadu Buhari arrived the country today friday at about 7:45 a.m,51 days after he left the country on a medical vacation.Owing to the closure of the Abuja airport,presidency sources informed newsmen that his plane was scheduled to land at the Kaduna airport in the wee hours of friday,following which he was to be flown by helicopter to the President Villa,Abuja. The sources also revealed that the president might address the nation friday after his long absence,in order to quell any concerns over his capacity to govern.The news of his return today friday was broken last night in a statement by his media aide,Mr Femi Adesina.Mr Adesina recalled that the president left the shores of the country on January 19 for a vacation,during which he was scheduled to undergo routine medical check-ups. 4 PEOPLE BAGS FIVE YEARS JAIL TERM FOR FAKE CURRENCY POSSESSION.{PHOTOS}.

                  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today March 9,2017 secured the conviction of four counterfeit currency dealers before Justice Simon Amobeda of the Federal High Court Kebbi on a four count charge of conspiracy and possession of counterfeit currency. The convicts,Usman Ahmed,Isiyaku Mohammed,Mohammed Abubakar Badadi and Rilwanu Abdullahi were arrested by officers off the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps at Birnin Kebbi while in possession of a sum of N583,000 {Five Hundred and Eighty Three Thousand Naira Only} in fake one thousand Naira notes.The case was eventually transferred to the commission for further investigation. After listening to the charge,all the accused persons pleaded guilty to the four count charge.In view of the plea of the accused persons,prosecution counsel,N.K Ukoha urged the court to convict them accordingly.Justice Amobeda convicted all the accused persons as charged,before sentence was delivered,counsel for the defendants S.
