  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.         The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has expressed his readiness to commence the payment of the outstanding pension arrears his administration inherited from past governments, dating back to the years the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held sway. Obaseki’s decision is in fulfilment of his earlier promise to settle the outstanding pension arrears of the State Government pensioners in phases. Conveying the governor’s approval, the Office of the Head of Service in the Edo State Government, in a circular signed by the permanent secretary/chairman Pension Bureau, I.D.S.   The Obituary of 8-year old killed by her brother,Ifeanyi,a Uniport student,who kidnapped,defiled and harvested her private parts for rituals 3 months ago.She was buried yesterday. It will be recalled that: The Plateau state Police Command has apprehended the runaway ritual killer suspect in Rivers state, Ifeanyi Dike. He escaped from the custody of the State CID in Port Harcourt after being paraded at the Police Headquarters. A policeman, Sergeant Johnbosco Okorinize is in prison custody for the escape. The twenty-three year old suspected child killer and ritualist, Ifeanyi Dike, has said no one aided his escape from police custody in Port Harcourt.     Chinenye Genevieve sent in this story with some pictures which she captioned '' There were ecstatic jubilation of some awaiting trial men on wednesday at the Enugu high court complex when five of them who had spent five years in prison were discharged and acquitted of a crime they said they did not commit. One of the freed men told me that their journey started since 2013 when they were detained by Enugu SARS at their cell but that it happened that one of the inmates who was as magic and was tortured by SARS men and that led to his death. Consequently according to the young man in his late twenties they were accused falsely of killing the young asthmatic boy. Five of them were as a result in ASA rated for five years but were discharged and abated for want of diligent prosecution by Hon. justice CI Nwobodo ,29/11/17''.More photos below.

EFCC DENIES SHARE IN SEIZED PENSION ASSETS,SAYS MAINA STILL A WANTED MAN.{PHOTOS}.

        The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has denied the allegation that officials of the anti-graft body shared 222 properties which the former Chairman of the Presidential Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina’s panel seized from pension fund thieves. Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman, EFCC, made the clarification on Thursday November 30, 2017 when he appeared before a Committee of the House of Representatives investigating the sack and reinstatement of Maina into the civil service after he was declared wanted by the EFCC for pension fraud. “All the pension fraud assets that are in the recovered assets inventory of the Commission were products of independent investigation by the EFCC, for which Maina and his cohorts had no clues”, Magu said. He added that a record of all the recovered assets from both the police pension and the pension office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation remained intact.           As a popular saying goes, Everyday for the thief one day for the owner of the house. According to a report, these 2 men pictured below have been stealing turkeys from a farmer who rears them. Unknown to the thieves, the man set a trap for them. He pretended as if he was leaving the house but sneaked back through his backyard and kept vigilance of the compound. As expected, they crept into the compound through a dilapidated part of the fence, stole two turkeys and made their was to the Ehulu market to sell them. He followed them all the way to the market where he raised alarm. They were apprehended and flogged mercilessly.More photos below.
