  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.       The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 22 boko haram members and leaders responsible for the kidnapping of Chibok School Girls, Over 50 Suicide bombings within Maiduguri Borno State and Adamawa State, Invasion of Bama and Gwoza. The arrested members are also responsible for several attacks/ambush and killing of thousands of innocents Nigerians including security agents and civilians in Borno and other North-eastern States of Nigeria. MASSIVE REMOVAL OF MAD PEOPLE FROM THE STREETS OF ANAMBRA STATE,BEGAN TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

      Anambra government has embarked on massive removal of mentally challenged people from the streets across the state for onward transfer to rehabilitation centers across the state. The relocation team, which was led by Mr Onyebuchi Aniedozie, succeeded in rounding up a number of the mentally challenged people from some major streets in Awka Capital Territory earlier today. The few mentally challenged people that were professionally picked up, were carefully relocated to Rehabilitation home at Nteje, for treatment and will be be handed over to their family members once they are medically certified okay.More photos below.

KIDNAPPER CAUGHT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ABDUCT 2 SCHOOL CHILDREN DURING THEIR GRADUATION AT UMUOKPU-AWKA,ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS].

      A young man who attempted to kidnap 2 school children in a primary school located at the St. Paul's Anglican Church Umuokpu-Awka , received the beating of his life. The man was said to have lured the kids aged 2 and 4 just as their graduation ceremony was about to end and lured them to follow him by offering them sweets and biscuits Unknown to his, some eagle-eyed youths in the area who knew the parents of the children were on his trail and raised alarm before he was apprehended and beaten thoroughly. The suspect confessed that he was promised N50,000 if he was successful in his mission with his accomplice who was waiting for him to deliver in an undisclosed location. He was thereafter handed to the Police by the Community Vigilante service.More photos below.

NIGERIAN AIR FORCE COMMENCES 3-DAY SPECIAL SURGICAL INTERVENTION FOR IDPS IN BARKIN LADI.[PHOTOS].

           The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced a 3-day special surgical intervention programme as well as medical outreach for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other residents of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State. This is part of the NAF efforts at alleviating the plights of persons affected by the recent violence in the area. The special medical outreach, which   is holding within the vicinity of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Hipan in Barkin Ladi, has been attracting a large turnout of IDPs as well as residents who expressed gratitude to the NAF for its humanitarian gesture and concern for the wellbeing of Nigerians. During the 3-day outreach, which is expected to end on 19 July 2018, patients with surgical needs would be operated on by NAF surgeons at the 563 NAF Hospital Jos while patients with other medical needs would be treated and given drugs as deemed necessary.      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 arraigned the duo of Omosehin Ipinle and Nsikak Friday before Justice Muslim. S. Hassan of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a three-count charge bordering on dealing in Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) without appropriate licence, an offence contrary to the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap MM17 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004. The defendants w ere charged alongside a vessel, MV D'Dove 1, and a company, Banjul Energy Limited. Count one reads: “MV D' Dove 1, Banjul Energy Limited, Omosehin Ipinle and Nsikak Friday, on the 13th day of August, 2017 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, conspired amongst yourselves to commit an offence to wit: dealing in 120 Metric Tonnes of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) without appropriate licence and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 3(6) of the miscellaneous offences Act, Cap M17, Law of the Federation of Nigeria

     The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has stressed the need for manufacturers of consumable products to follow standard procedures in the production process and final packaging of products. The General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode gave the charge during a courtesy visit by the Agency to the Office of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) at Ogba, Lagos She urged MAN to monitor the activities of its members particularly those involved in the production of consumable products to ensure that they follow the required standard procedure, stressing that adherent to same is vital to effective consumer protection.
