 Court Sends Nine Internet Fraudsters to Jail  in Benin City Nine internet fraudsters were on Tuesday and Wednesday April 23 & 24,  2024 convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City. The convicts are Andrew Ayakanmi Joshua, Obazee Marvellous, Osiobe Joshua, Osariemen Favour, Edosa Ovbokhan, Emmanuel Eramiokhare, Cyril Osagie, Stephen Okiosi Osaiwe and Muhammed Mudesiru Hussein They were jailed after pleading guilty to one-count separate charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, possession of fraudulent documents, retention of proceeds of crime upon arraignment by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,arraigned one Usman Muhammad Dajji of the Gombe State Sharia Court of Appeal before Justice Sa'ad Muhammad of the Gombe State High Court on five count charges bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and forgery.The suspect who is the Chairman of Sharia Court of appeal staff multipurpose Cooperative Society,Gombe was arrested by EFCC operatives following a petition by one Sani Abdullahi of Sam Omosco Nigeria Limited,a company that specializes in computer supplies and accessories,alleging that sometimes in December,2012,the suspect approached him with a contract proposal to supply 3000 Units of Computer Laptop to the Sharia Court of Appeal Cooperative Society with a condition that he must pay the sum of N550,000.00 as commitment and processing fee before the execution of the contract. ONDO STATE GOVERNOR DISSOLVED THE STATE'S COUNCIL OF OBAS TODAY+APPOINTS A NEW CHAIRMAN.

             According to the sources,Ondo State Governor,Dr Olusegun Mimiko today tuesday dissolved the state's Council of Obas led by the Osemawe of Ondo,Oba Victor Kiladejo.He consequently appointed the Olukare of Ikare,Oba Akadiri Momoh as the new chairman.A statement by the Commissioner for Information,Mr Kayode Akinmade said: ''Governor Mimiko CON,has formally dissolved the State Council of Obas and appointed Olukare of Ikare-Akoko Oba Akadiri Momoh as the new Chairman.The appointment takes effect from monday,February 20.

           The waves of Presidential pardon continues as twelve female prisoners were released by His Excellency President Adama Barrow.Eleven of the said prisoners were released with immediate effect and the remaining one at Tanka Tanka Institute will be released in due course,On the same note one hundred and sixty male prisoners have been released today.More prisoners are scheduled for release in the coming weeks.More photos below.  

INEC DIRECTOR FACES PROSECUTION FOR N16MILLION SCAM.{PHOTO}.

                   The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,has concluded arrangements to prosecute a Deputy Director of the Independent Electoral Commission,INEC in Akwa Ibom State,and former Electoral Officer in Rivers State,Gogo Anderson Waribo,for his alleged collection of N16million from the infamous N23billion Diezani Allison Madueke's during the 2015 general election bribery funds.Waribo was arrested by operatives of the anti-graft agency following intelligence report that some INEC officers conspired with some staff of Fidelity Bank to defraud the Federal Government of several millions of naira.Although,he has consistently denied involvement in the fraud,investigation revealed that the INEC Deputy Director's name is on the list of beneficiaries of the money.He is alleged to have received the sum of N16 million through his First Bank account on March 27,2015.Waribo allegedly gave N5 million from the N16 million to Peter Popnen,an ex-INEC official.The suspect wil

               The Federal Ministry of Information and Culture yesterday Monday in Abuja signed a Memorandum of Understanding {MoU} with the Leadership/Folio Limited for the production of a Grand Book tiled ''Publication of Nigeria: Our Heritage Book {National Souvenir}''. The Minister of Information and Culture,Alhaji Lai Mohammed,signed on behalf  of the ministry while the Chairman of Leadership Folio Limited,Mr Fidelis Anosike,signed for the production company.Speaking at the signing ceremony,the Minister described the Grand Book as a unique souvenir from Nigeria to the outside world.
