 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

              According to Nigerian Police who wrote on social media that ''Please don't tow your Keke NAPEP this way.If you do,Nigeria Police Force officers on the road will intercept and charge you to court accordingly''.Funny enough i have seen something similar on the road before and while they were doing it the Keke fell out and the Keke rowed back to another car and hit it.I am happy the Nigerian Police is officially making it an offence.More photos below.

EFCC ARRESTED A BLOGGER TODAY IN ABUJA FOR CYBER STALKING.{READ}.

                     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission {EFCC} today monday arrested Mr Abubakar Sidiq Usman,a blogger,for offence bordering on cyber stalking.The suspect who is an online publisher was picked up at his Kubwa,Abuja home in the early hours of Monday August 8,2016 by operatives of the EFCC and is currently being questioned over the alleged offence which contravenes sections of the Cyber Crime Act.The suspect has already been offered administrative bail and would be released to his elected sureties.

                                                         According to CCTV,gunmen dressed as priests killed three Nigerian soldiers in Niger Delta.The attack happened in the Nembe area in Bayelsa state.According to a military source,the soldiers were hunting the men down when they struck.Niger Delta region has been rocked by attacks by militants who demand that a larger share of the oil revenue be directed to the region.Details later.

                           According to sources,a Namibian boxer is the second athlete to be arrested at the Rio Olympics Athlete Village accused of the sexual assault of a housemaid.The athlete,identified by the police as 22 years old Jonas Junias,was arrested on sunday night {Monday NZ Tme} and is being held in custody pending investigations,Spokesmen for Rio 2016 organising committee said today monday morning {Tuesday NZT}.Junius was the Namibian team's flag bearer at the Games opening ceremony on friday {Saturday}.He was to compete in the Men's light welterweight,64kg,division on friday.More photos below.

                    Lagos State Government has announce that intending pilgrims for the Y2016 pilgrimage in the Kinddom of Saudi Arabia will be airlifted from Lagos as scheduled by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria {NAHCON} on August 16,17 and 18 respectively.The State's Amir Hajj and Commissioner for Home Affairs,Dr AbdulHakeem AbduLateef made the disclosure in Alausa during a stakeholders meeting with the staff of State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,adding that intending pilgrims would be notified of their traveling dates by their coordinators through text messages.While reminding the pilgrims to stay away from all items prohibited and banned by the Saudi Arabian Government,AbdulLateef warned that the State Government will not tolerate any act of lawlessness and disobedience that may tarnish the image of Lagos State in particular and Nigeria in general.He charged them to be good representatives of the State as well as be patient with their assigned coordinators and pilgrim

COURT VACATES RESTRAINING INJUNCTION AGAINST EFCC.{READ}.

                Justice Ntong F.N Ntong of the Awka-Ibom State High Court,sitting in Ikot Ekpene,Akwa-Ibom State,has vacated an order of interim injunction restraining the EFCC from investigating the accounts of Akwa Ibom State Government.The court had on 13 July,2016 ruled in favour of an ex-parte motion filled before it by the Akwa Ibom State's Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice,Mr Uwemedimo Nwoko,seeking an order of interim injunction restraining the Federal Government or any of its agencies,including the EFCC,ICT and the Inspector General of Police from arresting,detaining or investigating any official of the state government,past or present,without any report of indictment by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
