NDLEA arrests drug baron behind N3billion Tramadol linked to Abba Kyaris team Billionaire drug baron behind the N3billion Tramadol deal involving the embattled suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari-led Intelligence Response Team, IRT, Chief Afam Mallinson Emmanuel Ukatu has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA. After months of surveillance and evading arrest, Ukatu who is Chairman of Mallinson Group of Companies was eventually nabbed onboard a flight to Abuja  at the MM2 terminal of the Lagos airport, Ikeja on Wednesday 13th April.  Investigations reveal hes been a major importer of large consignments of different brands and high dosages of Tramadol Hydrochloride, ranging from 120mg, 200mg, 225mg and 250mg, all of which are illicit. Ukatu owns pharmaceutical and plastic manufacturing companies, which he used as a cover to import illicit drugs into Nigeria. Brave Nigerian Man Riding His Motorcycle from London to Lagos Enters Africa, Closes in on Casablanca, Morocco. Kunle Adeyanju, the Nigerian man who is riding on his bike from London, the United Kingdom to Lagos, Nigeria, is now in Africa. The brave man shared a selfie picture indicating that he is close to Casablanca, Morocco as seen in a signpost where he took the photo. Kunle had announced his journey last week, saying it is a journey of 12,000km which would take 25 days to complete. The Nigerian man, Kunle Adeyanju, who has undertaken a charity ride from London, the United Kingdom to Lagos, Nigeria, has arrived in Africa. GOV. UZODIMMA REASSURES ORLU ZONE OF SAFETY AND DEVELOPMENT His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has reassured the safety of lives and properties of Orlu zone and the State at large. Governor Hope Uzodimma in his expression of concern on the happenings in the region, made the affirmation at the Orlu Zone Development Forum Summit on Peace and Development held at Nkwerre Country Club.   At the peace and development summit, the Governor had warned aggrieved Politicians to embrace peace and shun sponsorship of violence. A philanthropist, Ramatu Abarshi, has been abducted by terrorists alongside her daughter, Amira, after distributing Ramadan gifts to local communities of Mariri town in the Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State. According to Daily Nigeria, the bandits trailed them on Saturday noon around Kasuwan Magani in the Kachia Local Government Area, the southern part of Kaduna State. Mrs Abarshi, a former Head of Department of Electrical Engineering, Kaduna Polytechnic, is known for philanthropic work and peace initiatives in Southern Kaduna. When contacted, the spokesman for the Kaduna State Police Command, Mohammed Jalige, said he was unaware of the incident.  “You know people don’t always report such incidents immediately to the police,” he said. In recent months, Kaduna has witnessed a spate of violent attacks which has led to killings and abduction of residents.    

Amild drama ensued on Monday at the resumed hearing of the murder case of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), when Magdalene Chiefuna, the second defendant in the matter slumped in the courtroom.   The Presiding Judge, Justice Adepele Ojo immediately adjourned the matter to allow the defendant to be attended to. Chiefuna was said to have slumped when the lawyer for the defendants was arguing over the propriety of handing over the case to the human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN).   She was reportedly coughing repeatedly before the court clerk and corrections officials rushed to her side. Last week, the Osun State Government declared Falana as being in full charge of the prosecution of the case involving the murder of Timothy Adegoke. Adegoke was killed last November after lodging in the Hilton Hotel and Resorts, Ile-Ife, Osun State. The Federal Government has directed the re-opening of Idiroko, Jibiya, Kamba and Ikom borders closed in August of 2019 as part of  Measures to prevent the smuggling of illegal arms, food & agricultural products to stimulate local production. This was disclosed, in an interview with the National Public Relations Officer of the Service DC Timi Bomodi. He stated that the Service announced the immediate re-opening of these four land borders in compliance with recent Presidential directives. Recall, the Federal Government on October 15, 2019, announced the partial closure of all land borders. “All goods, for now, are banned from being exported or imported through our land borders and that is to ensure we have total control over what comes in,” Hameed Ali, Comptroller-General of Customs Service said. Nine members of a notorious kidnap syndicate terrorizing Abeokuta Ayetoro road in recent time were on Sunday 24th of April 2022 arrested in their hideout at Abule oba, off Ayetoro road, Abeokuta by men of Ogun state Police Command, in collaboration with local hunters, so safe corps, OPC, vigilante and men of Amotekun corps. A 70-year-old widow, Mrs. Theresa Igboanugo, has been forcefully thrown out of her husband’s house by her step-son in Ifitedunu village, Anambra State. The national mathematics centre of Nigeria 🇳🇬 (NMC) has crowned Miss Faith Odunsi of Ambassador College, Otta in Ogun State Nigeria as "MATHEMATICS QUEEN" for her outstanding performance in the National Olympiads Competition. Miss Faith Odunsi solved 19 mathematics questions in 60 seconds, and became the best girl in mathematics competition.  26 students of both senior and junior secondary Schools across the country were also given awards in different categories in mathematics science. Alleged N266.5m Fraud: Court Refuses Bail Application of Fake Army General Who Claimed Buhari Nominated Him As COAS Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday, April 25, 2022, dismissed the bail application filed by one Bolarinwa Abiodun, a fake Army General, who is being prosecuted on a 13-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, forgery of documents, and possession of documents containing false pretence to the tune of N266, 500,000.  The Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC, had, on April 11, 2022 arraigned the defendant on offences contrary to Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act 2006; Section 363 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 and Section 6 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Related Offences Act No 14 of 2006, respectively.
