EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

N415.730 BILLION HAS BEEN DISTRIBUTED AS FEDERAL ALLOCATION FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL 2017.{READ}.

                A total of N415.730 billion has been distributed as Federal Allocation for the month of April 2017 by the Federal Governmebt,State Governments and Local Government Councils.The communique issued by the sub-Committee of Federation Accounts Allocation Committee {FAAC} of the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation,at the end of the meeting held in Abuja on May 23,2017,indicated that the gross statutory revenue received for the Month is N248.110 billion,which is lower than the N331.583 billion received in the previous months by N54.473 billion.The shared amount comprised the Month's Statutory distributable revenue of N272.115 billion,Value Added Tax of N81.286 billion,Exchange gain of N38.517 billion and Excess PPT Account of N20.425 billion.There was also a N6.330 billion refund to the Federal Government by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation {NNPC}.Accordingly,from Net Statutory Allocation,the Federal Government received N124.444 billion representing {

COURT GRANTS EX-NNPC BOSS 'ANDREW YAKUBU' 3 WEEKS LEAVE TO TRAVEL ABROAD FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT.

Mohammed of the Federal High Court,Abuja has granted permission to a former NNPC Boss,Andrew Yakubu to travel to the United Kingdom for medical check-up.Ruling on the application brought by Yakubu's counsel,Ahmed Raji,SAN,Justice Mohamed said,''since the prosecuting counsel is not opposing the defendant's motion dated 23rd May,2017 seeking leave to be granted to the defendant to travel to the United Kingdom to continue treatment,the application is granted.The judge also agreed with the prosecuting counsel,Prince Ben Ikani,that the international passport of the defendant be released to his counsel in the interim adding that,''the leave is granted is for a period of three weeks commencing from May 25,2017''.Other conditions attached to the release of the passport are: ''The defendant shall return to the country on or before the expiration of the three weeks granted; One of the sureties of the defendant shall file a

                     Sequel to the renewed vigour and enthusiasm for effective Service delivery by the Nigeria Customs Service,the Tincan Island Command intercepted a total of four hundred and forty {440} pieces of assorted Pump Action Riffles.Speaking with Journalists at the Enforcement section of the Unit,the Customs Area Controller,BAHAR YUSUF who introduced the subject to the media,stated that the seizure was affected through intelligence which necessitated the segregation of the 1x 20ft container to the Enforcement Unit for physical examination.The Cusoms Area Controller gave them breakdown of the seizures as follows: i.
