  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.                 Today it was reported that,the Nigerian troops fighting Boko Haram insurgents along Banki axis of Borno state,recorded a major victory with clearing two camps of Boko Haram at Jangurori and Bulatori villages and arrest of 43 suspected members of the insurgent group.Colonel Shehu Usman,acting director of Army Public Relations said in a statement that one of the suspected terrorists arrested is Boko Haram Kingpin in the area,''Bulama Modu'',who is an ''Amir of Bulakuri.He added that the troops also rescued 241 women and children during the operation.''To further confirm what was said earlier about the terrorists abandoning their commanders and burying weapons,one Mohammed Mode led troops to where he buried his AK-47 rifle at Jangurori village.Apart from the arms and ammunition,bows and arrows were recovered from Bulama Modu,the kingpin.He confirmed that the terrorists also gave him a horse to enhance his deadly pursuits''.He further
