     The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commissioned 100 patrol vans and 200 motorcycles to strengthen internal security in the State. The Governor who applauded the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for his swiftness at ensuring that normalcy was restored back to the state when kidnappers struck in the state between the 23rd and 24th of July and the 1st of August said that the state would hence forth continu e to have a zero tolerance for criminality, cultism, kidnappings and other unwholesome attitudes in the state.        The leadership of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners, Benue State Chapter has distanced itself from the protest organised by the 'Concerned Pensioners' in the state, saying the protest was instigated and had a political undertone. State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Joseph Kyume, stated this today while speaking with journalists shortly after he led a delegation to present the position of the Union to Governor Samuel Ortom at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi. Comrade Kyume said the Union had held talks with the State Government and had agreed on harmonisation of payment of pensions to all categories of retirees in the state.      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office, has commenced investigation of 58 suspected oil thieves; four Vessels, one Barge and two wooden Boats allegedly involved in illegal oil bunkering. The suspects and Vessels were handed over to the EFCC by the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder for further investigation and possible prosecution.       A crippled teenage boy who is yet to be identified was reportedly crushed to death by an articulated vehicle while begging for alms at Upper Iweka, Onitsha in Anambra state. Sister to the deceased who was pushing him on a wheel chair, was said to have narrowly escaped death as she abandoned him and ran for her life.         The Economic and Financial Crime Comission, EFCC, Sokoto Zonal Office in collaboration with the FBI, recorded a big success, when on the 29th of August, 2019 Operatives of the Commission, from the Zonal Office arrested one Emmanuel Adedeji Oluwatosin, who is on the wanted list of the FBI. The Zonal Head, Abdullahi Lawal while parading the suspect in Sokoto on Thursday described the arrest as a big success.       Lagos State Government has introduced a new culture of waste disposal and management with the launch of Blue Box Initiative on Thursday by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The initiative, launched at Simpson Transfer Loading Station on Lagos Island, is a component of the health and environmental regeneration agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration conceived to achieve the Governor’s vision of cleaner and greener Lagos. The Governor, who described the programme as a fulfillment of his campaign promise, said Lagos could no longer depend on unprofitable waste management system. He said his administration was determined to create wealth out of the 10,000 metric tons of waste daily generated in the state through recycling technique that would also create direct and indirect jobs in the value chains.     The Anambra State Government has commenced the registration of Fulani herdsmen, aimed at checking the farmers-herdsmen conflict in the state. Speaking to newsmen on the commencement of the registration, Chairman of Anambra State Cattle Menace Control Committee, Igwe Peter Eze-Amama said the registration point was at Amansea in Awka North council area. Eze-Amama said the enumeration process will help in an easy identification whenever there is a crisis. He said, “The enumeration will assist the cattle menace control committee to fish out the bad eggs from the Fulani herdsmen in Anambra state.” Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, South-East chairman of Miyetti Allah hailed the initiative and also urged herdsmen to respect their host communities as erring individuals will be punished accordingly.

     Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has re-stated his administration's commitment towards ensuring that Lagos is crime-free.
