                       The Nigeria Police Force is abreast of the unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of yesterday 12th April,2017 in Damaturu between the personnel of the Force and that of the Nigerian Army. 2.                 Barely 24 hours after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,uncovered the sums of $43,449,947, 27,800 Pounds and N23,218,00 at an apartment in the Ikoyi area of Lagos,a Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered an interim forfeiture of the funds to the Federal Government.In his ruling today thursday,April 13,2017,Justice Muslim Hassan ordered anyone interested in the money to appear before him at the next adjourned date to show reason why the money should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government.The commission was also directed to publish in any National Daily for anyone to show cause within 14 days why the order of final forfeiture should not be granted.The Interim Forfeiture was obtained pursuant to Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and other related offences Act 2006.Operatives of the Commission had,on wednesday,April 12,2017,stormed a residential building on the seventh floor of a four-bedroom apartmen...

               Nollywood Legend,Chief Pete Edochie on tuesday,stormed the flagging off of Anambra Cargo and Passenger Airport by Governor Willie M Obiano at Umueri.I reported earlier this week that the Governor of Anambra State on April 11 signed a Memorandum of Understanding {MoU} that would ensure the immediate commencement of work on the proposed Umueri International Cargo Airport with a view to having the airport ready for use in three years.The agreement was between the Government of Anambra State,China Aviation,Orient Petroleum Resources Ltd and Elite International Investment Holdings Ltd.More photos below.

                                                      Unending tears in Ihiala today as Dangote trialer loaded with cement ran into people around Total Filling Station killing over 20 persons at a spot and left many with serious injuries.A dangote truck fully loaded with cement inexplicably veered of the road and plunged inside the gutter close to Fist Bank.Not less than 25 persons lost there lives in that ugly incident,The casualties were mostly hawkers ranging from young children hawking gala,pure water,aki n ukwa,chips to old women selling okpa bread and other varieties of goods consumables.It was gathered that the driver absconded and fled from the scene as soon as the incident happened.There was wailing all over the place as people were running frantically trying to know if they could identify any of the casualties.An ambulance conveyed the corpses ...

         The Lagos State Government has announced that all Public and Private Primary and Secondary Schools operating in the State are to resume on Tuesday,18th April,2017.A statement issued today by the Ministry of Education noted that there is a need for all schools {Public and Private} to adhere strictly to the Y2016/17 Academic Calendar jointly agreed upon at the stakeholders meeting held prior to the commencement of the academic year.It stated further that the adoption of a uniform calendar makes for proper planning and ensures that pupils and students attend school for the number of days required in the terms,reiterating that the resumption for the 3rd Term was fixed for Tuesday,18th April,Mid-Term Break will hold between Thursday,1st and Friday,2nd June,2017 while the term endss on Friday,14th July,2017.The statement also wished the pupils and their parents Happy Easter celebration following the successful completion of Lent.

             The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital {LAASUTH},Ikeja has performed its first open-heart surgery with a team of local medical specialists.The LASUTH Chief Medical Director,Professor David Adewale Oke,made the disclosure at a news conference on Wednesday,stating that the hospital has developed the capacity and know-how with its team of surgeons to conduct safe and cost-effective cardiac surgery.According to him,''The facility can effectively operate on congenital heart disease; knee disease,through knee replacement surgery and kidney disease through kidney transplant''.Oke stressed that all these breakthroughs testify to innovation and professionalism in the hospital,adding that this is one of the dreams of the Lagos State Government which wants to reduce medical tourism by Nigerians to the barest minimum.The CMD said that the burden of structural heart disease requiring surgical intervention was on the rise in the country.Maintainin...
