His Eminence The Shehu of Borno Alh. (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-kanemi CFR hosted His Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno State to a colourful dubar at his palace today after the eid prayer.  The Shehu himself ride on horse back from the Eid Ground at the Ramat Square to His palace accompanied by the emirate's princes,district heads and Noble Tittle Holders. This signifies the return of peace in the state , as Borno has a long history of cultural heritage and hospitality. A mammoth crowd also witnessed the colourful dubar where various District heads Proceeded by the Waziri of Borno paid homage to the Shehu and his Excellency with colourfully adorned Horses showcasing the beauty of the culture and horsemanship of the Borno Emirates. Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, Senator representing Borno Central, Kashim Shettima, and the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali, led top government officials and other muslim faithful to perform two Rak'at Eid Prayers in Maiduguri on Tuesday.  The Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elkanemi, Senator representing Southern Borno, Mohammed Ali Ndume, Chief Whip of the House of Representative, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan and the State APC Chairman, Ali Bukar Dalori, were among dignitaries that attended the eid prayer.  The eid prayer held at Ramat Square, a large space with capacity for thousands of persons was led by Imam Idaini of Borno, Shettima Mamman Saleh.  In his sermon, Imam Shettima Ibn Saleh urged Muslim faithful to pray for peace to return to the state and the country at large. President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State, expressed his deep attachment to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and impact so far, saying it broadens the horizon of citizens, opens up opportunities and enhances understanding of cultural differences. In a statement signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, the Publicity Secretary of the group, IPOB said "we wish to absolve Gov. Willie Obiano from any involvement in the act contrary to our earlier statement based on preliminary investigation. Gov. Willie Obiano was found to be innocent after our intelligence unit conducted further investigations on him. We regret any harm our earlier statement might have caused him."  Waxing philosophical, the group which also exonerated Senator Victor Umeh from its earlier charges of complicity in the abduction their leader further declared "We are responsible enough to admit our error any time any day. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday, July 19, 2021 ruled that a former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has a case to answer in the N29 billion fraud charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Nyako is being prosecuted by the EFCC alongside his son, Abdul-Aziz, two companies, Sebore Farms and Extension Ltd and Pagado Fortunes Ltd, as well as Zulkifik Abba, Abubakar Aliyu, Blue Opal Ltd, Tower Assets Management Ltd, and Crust Energy Ltd on  37-count charges of criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office, and money laundering. The Commission closed its case after it had called 21 witnesses, but rather than open their defence, the defendants opted for a no-case submission on the ground that the prosecution had failed to link them to the alleged offences. Justice Umaru Fadawu of the Borno State High Court sitting in Maiduguri, on July 16, 2021 sentenced a serial fraudster, Alen Abel to fifteen years imprisonment for obtaining N4, 065, 000.00 (Four Million, Sixty-five Thousand Naira), under false pretence. The offence is contrary to Section 1 (1) (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the same Act. The convict was arraigned on July 14, 2021 by the EFCC on two separate one count charge. The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (LSCPWB) on Monday organised a one-day seminar for operations staff for this year’s holy pilgrimage exercise scheduled for the Kingdom of Jordan in August.  The seminar, held at Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, was geared towards ensuring that the staff are enlightened about their duties and responsibilities to ensure a smooth pilgrimage exercise.   Addressing the participants, the Board Secretary of LSCPWB, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe stated that the seminar was convened to acquaint participants with requirements for excellent service delivery, noting that the task ahead must be performed without any hitch.
