 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

LAGOS CANCELS MONTHLY ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION DAY.

             The Lagos State Government on wednesday terminated the monthly environmental sanitation exercise which hitherto held for three hours on the last saturday of every month.The State Government,in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy,Mr Steve Ayorinde ,said the decision to cancel the monthly exercise followed a resolution arrived at wednesday's Executive Council meeting which approved the need for a robust review of the environmental laws and procedures in the state in order to meet the present day challenges and to promote a clean and healthy environment.The Government noted that considering the present economic situation in the country,it was no longer appropriate to restrict movement of people for three hours in a mega city like Lagos at a time they should be pursuing commercial and entrepreneurial activities.According to government,in the last two decades,Lagos has grown exponentially into a mega city with the attendant huge environmental proble

                         I shared one article on Whasapp captioned ''BEWARE IT IS SNAKE SEASON!!!!'' which was sent to me by someone on my contact The article was saying that ''Due to the heatwave and high temperatures,snakes,especially Cobras,seek refuge in cooler places like inside your home''.So i sent it to other people on my whasapp contact list and was shocked about the feedback i received from them and almost all of them were saying they have sited or either killed snakes inside their various and someone even sent me 2 photos of the snake they just killed inside of their house two hours before i sent the article to her.This is a very serious problem and we should not over look the safety tips that were shared along with the article. Idris NPM mni has directed that a robust and elaborate security arrangement be implemented in Ondo State to ensure peaceful,credible,free andd fair elections. 2. A Deputy Inspector General of Police has been deployed to the State and will be assisted by an Assistant Inspector General of Police and three {3} Commissioners of Police and three {3} Commissioners of Police {for each Senatorial district} to coordinate the security operations and supervise the deployment of security personnel for the elections throughout the 3009 polling units,203 wards and 18 LGA of the State. 3.                 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC,today wednesday 23,November 2016,arraigned two Lebanese,Imad Harb and Toni Harb,along with their company: Transparent Construction Nig. Ltd before Justice E.N Oluedo of the State High Court Enugu,for allegedly conspiring and obtaining the sum of N1,760,000.00 {One Million Seven Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira only} from one Desmond Ogadinma and subsequently issuing a postdated cheque that was returned unpaid.While taking their plea,the accused persons pleaded not guilty on all counts of the three count charge preferred against them by the EFCC.In view of their plea,the defense counsel Barr. I.O Ugwu immediately prayed the court to grant the accused persons bail as the offence was a bailable one.But the presiding Judge,Justice E.N Oluedo instantly turned down the application on the grounds that it was not properly filed,and as such,need time to see the application before the defense can move the motion for bail to be con

                  According to sources,an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency {LASTMA} was allegedly beaten to pulp earlier today wednesday in the Ajah area of Lagos State.In a series of tweets on LASRMA's Twitter handle,the agency narrated how their man was assaulted by the police officers on escort duties.The policeman reportedly handcuffed the traffic officer and made him lie on the floor in his uniform while the attack continued.The LASTMA official was later rescued and the officer arrested,More photos below.
