 CNG condemns killing of Innocent Travelers in Edo The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the brutal killing of 16 innocent travelers from Northern Nigeria in Udune Efandion, Uromi, Edo State. The National Coordinator of the Coalition, Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, in a statement issued and signed in Abuja, stated that this tragic incident, which occurred on Thursday, was a result of false accusations of kidnapping, leading to an enraged mob taking the law into their own hands. He noted that victims were ordinary citizens traveling for legitimate reasons, not criminals. The Coalition strongly condemned this barbaric act and the incitement of local youths to commit such a heinous crime adding that, the actions of the mob, driven by misinformation and ignorance, were an affront to humanity and decency.  It urged citizens to reject mob justice and seek constructive dialogue instead of resorting to violence.                      Alice Ramsey,is the first woman to drive an automobile across the United States in 1909.The cars at that time had a top speed of approximately 15 mile per hour and most of the roads were very rough and primitive compared to modern day highways .It took 59 days for Alice Ramsey  and her 3 traveling companions to drive from New York to San Francisco.Alice Ramsey was born Alice Taylor Huyler.She was a 22 year old house wife and mother from Hackensack,New Jersey who began a 3,800 mile journey from Hell's Gate in Manhattan,New York t San Fransico,Carlifornia in a green Maxwell 30 on her 59 day trek.She was accompanied by two older sisters inlaw and another female friend,none of them could drive a car except her.The drive was originally meant as a publicity stunt for Maxwell Briscoa,the car maker at that time,because women were not encouraged to drive cars.Ramsey was named the ''Woman motorist of the century'' by...

5 PILGRIMS FROM GOMBE STATE,DECLARED MISSING IN SAUDI ARABIA+FREE SALLAH GIFTS FROM GOMBE GOVERNOR.

                 According to the Executive Secretary,Gombe state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,Alhaji Usman Gurama told newsmen in Mina,Saudi Arabia today saturday that five pilgrims from Gombe state have been declared missing in Saudi Arabia and the pilgrims could not be located since thursday.He said that members of the medical team had been checking hospitals and mortuaries with a view to locating them or their remains.He however said that for now,it had not been confirmed as to whether they were among those who died as a result of thursday's incident at the stone throwing venue called ''Jamrat'',where over 700 pilgrims died.Gurama confirmed that seven pilgrims from the state were injured at the scene of the incident and were responding to treatment.Meanwhile the Governor of Gombe state Ibrahim Dankwambo,today saturday gave the sate pilgrims 585,300 {N32.7 million } as Sallah gift.Each pilgrims had received 300 Saudi Riyals {N16,800}.
