 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. Let's take a flashback: Bishop Peter Okpalake if you recall was the Catholic bishop- elect for Mbaise diocese in Imo state till about two years ago when he was removed. His life was made unbearable by the people of Mbaise. He was insulted on several occasions and made not to officiate mass during his reign by the locals in Mbaise. The Mbaise locals took all forms of violent approach to make life unbearable for Okpalake. The Mbaise locals wanted their own person as Bishop instead of an outsider from Anambra.     Troops of Sector 1 Operation LAFIYA DOLE (OPLD) has in the last seven days engaged the Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) hibernating within its own Area of Operation in the theatre. Within the period, on 22 April, 2020, troops of 121 Task Force (TF) Battalion under 26 TF Bde while in ambush position, made contact with BHTs at crossing point Pulka-Firgi road. One BHT was killed, One loaded AK 47 rifle recovered. Additionally, a motorcycle painted in Military colour along with one locally fabricated Hand grenade were also recovered.      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has cautioned members of the public against fraudulent activities of spurious dispenser and manager of funds to vulnerable Nigerians, ostensibly to cope with the discomfort associated with the lockdown measures of the Federal Government in some parts of the country. . . FG INAUGURATES INTER-MINISTERIAL COMMITTEE ON EXTENDED SPECIAL PUBLIC WORKS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Federal Government has inaugurated the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Extended Special Public Works Across the 774 Local Government Areas of the Federation, set up to devise a strategy for the implementation of that programme. Inaugurating the Committee in Abuja today, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, said President Muhammadu Buhari had in October 2019 approved a pilot special public works programme, for implementation by the National Directorate for Employment (NDE) in five Local Government Areas each of eight pilot states. He added that the programme, a Federal Government job creation drive, was designed to "mitigate lack of job opportunity in the rural area through short term engagement of one thousand (1000) unemployed persons per Local Government Areas (LGA) for a period of three (3) months," with a payment of N20,000 monthly allowance to the beneficiaries. The PTF Chairman thanked the Ansar-ud-Deen Society for coming to the aid of the Task Force by making such donation in the aid of the poor and vulnerable in the society. He observed with gratitude the compliance level of the Society with regard to the ban on mass gathering in the form of worship in the mosques as well as adherence to the social/ physical distancing policy on COVID-19.      This heartwarming Ventilator Prototype was produced by Mr Zoe Jerry Mallo in Jos to assist in treating COVID-19 patients in ICU and related respiratory illness. I have forwarded pictures of this Machine to some officials in Abuja to make immediate contact with Mr Mallo.
