        Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode will on Tuesday join the Governor General of Canada, Rt Hon Julie Payette to inaugurate a new biosecurity laboratory in Lagos. In a statement on Sunday, the Lagos State Government said the inauguration of the State Biobank, located at the Mainland Hospital in Yaba, where the isolation unit used by the State Government to contain the 2014 Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak was located. According to the statement, the Laboratory, funded by Canada in partnership with the State Government, would serve as a single repository for all high-concentration pathogens in the State, adding that it would also help the State mitigate post-EVD threats and build capacity for prevention, detection and response to future outbreaks in Nigeria and West Africa.        JUST IN: Troops Repel BHT attack at Gashigar. BHT were completely routed 27 October 2018 when they attempted to infiltrate 145 Battalion location at Gashigar Borno State. They fled in disarray due to superior firepower by the gallant troops and support from the Nigerian Airforce. However one soldier was Killed in Action while 4 others were Wounded in Action. The wounded were immediately evacuated to Maiduguri for treatment by Bell 412 Helicopter. Details later. More photos below.

      The colourful display of the nation's culture and tradition ended on a high-note in Port Harcourt on Saturday as 25 participating states showcased the diversity of the Nation at the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST 2018). NAFEST 2018 which was described as a masterstroke saw Rivers State emerging as the overall best state of the festival. Bayelsa State emerged second place , Ondo State took third place, Federal Capital Territory emerged fourth place and overall fifth place went to Delta State.
