 New Head of Service Urges Anambra Civil Servants to Embrace Efficiency and Accountability ‎ ‎By Chizoba Njaka  ‎ ‎The newly appointed Head of Service in Anambra State, Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, has called on civil servants to shift towards efficiency and accountability, promising improvements in welfare.  ‎ ‎Addressing staff at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex in Awka, Iwouno outlined her vision for a professional, merit-based, and citizen-centered service that aligns with Governor Chukwuma Soludo's goals. ‎ ‎Iwouno emphasized that her mission is not just a statement, but a call to action, demanding sincerity and commitment from all workers. She expressed disappointment with the recent governor's visit, which revealed empty offices during working hours, and stressed that absenteeism, lateness, and poor attitudes are unacceptable. ‎ ‎The Head of Service pledged to improve welfare, including fixing ministry vehicles, and mandated that Wednesday 1st April , 2026 will be clean...

A BUS DRIVER WAS SENTENCED TO 10 MONTHS IMPRISONMENT FOR DRIVING AGAINST TRAFFIC.

                                                        27 year old Sheyi Adedeji who hails from Ikirun Osun state was arrested by officers of the Lagos Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences unit on tuesday and arrainged in court for violating the Road Traffic law of Lagos state.He was arrested because he was driving against traffic at Iyana Ipaja.He was charged with two count charge of dangerous driving and driving against traffic.He pleaded guilty to the offences and was duly sentenced by a magistrate sitting in the Special Offences court in Alausa Lagos, to 10 months imprisonment.His sentence was with the option of paying N150,000 plus community service to be carried out at the place of arrest or remain in jail for 10 months.

BURKINA FASO PRESIDENT BLAISE COMPAORE,RESIGNS TODAY AFTER YESTERDAY'S PROTEST.

                 Today friday Burkina Faso's president Blaise Compaore announced his resignation in a statement today and called for a 90 day transition to free and transparent elections in the country.''I declare a vacancy of power with a view to allowing a transition that should finish with free and tansparent elections in a maximum period of 90 days''.Lieutenant Colonel Isaac Zida of the presidential guard had earlier announced Compaore's departure in the Central Place de la Nation in Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou to cheering from tens of thousands of protesters.Huge crowds had gathered to demand the presidents resignation after a day of violent protests yesterday thusday.Eye witnesses claimed that they saw President Compaore travelling out of the country towards the Southern town of Po near the border with Ghana.More pictures below.
