The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.       The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has vowed to assist the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, to recover monies going into trillions of Naira being owed it by businessmen, women and companies. “We are ready to work with you, we will render assistance in terms of enforcement, in order to recover these loans, because they are affecting the economy of the country from flourishing,” he said.        Operatives of the Sokoto Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested the Chairman of Rice Farmers’ Association of Nigeria, RIFAN, Gummi Local Government Chapter, Ibrahim Rijiya; the Council Storekeeper, Aminu Musa and Abdullahi Bashir for their alleged involvement in the criminal diversion of three trailer loads of 1,800 bags of fertilizer, and a tru ck-load of farming herbicide belonging to rice farmers in Gummi. Rijiya, who is also the District Head of Rijiya Gummi, Gummi LGA, Zamfara State, is also alleged to have diverted three trailers loaded with fertilizer and other supplies for their local farmers, and later sold each bag at the sum of N3,000 including other farm materials. The EFCC had received a petition from representatives of seven different groups of rice farmers, alleging that sometimes in July 2018, the Federal Government approved and disbursed 12 trucks of fertilizer and herbicides, on loan to 83 cooperative groups in Gu

Earlier today parents trooped to the venue for the registration of their wards. The Public Affairs Officers from the Ministry of Information and Strategy and Health workers, were able to contain the challenge of Crowd control without Rancour. The heavy human traffic was controlled and patients were distributed, according to the type of ailment . The total number of patients today at the IGA Idunganran health Center was 750 with 400 females and 350 males.       8-year-old Stephanie Ogechukwu Onusiriuka started Gymnastics on her own when she was just two years old. Her parents discovered her talent and decided to help her achieve her chosen career. In October 2018, Stephanie started professionally with TIG Gymnastics at the National Stadium Abuja. She is currently in level 6. Stephanie Onusiriuka participated at the 8th Edition TIG International Level System Gymnastics Championship Competition in Abuja 2018. She also participated in the African Gymnastics Championship in Pretoria South Africa 2019, where she won a Gold Medal for Nigeria. She will be participating at the National youth games coming up on the 7th of September 2019 in Ilorin Kwara state.      Operatives of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Makurdi Zonal Office have arrested two men, Moses Adukwu and Iorlumun Reuben for currency counterfeiting. The journey for the two men began when the EFCC Makurdi zonal office received a case transferred from the Department of State Service, DSS against them. Iorlumun, 27 years old from Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State was arrested by DSS who rescued him from being lynched. He had purchased airtime from a woman who noticed that Reuben had paid her with fake currency and alerted people around. When interrogated, he confessed that he was introduced to the business by another man still at large who had also introduced him to a supplier, Adukwu. He also confessed to still be in possession of about N18,000 fake currencies which he has been unable to spend before his arrest.      The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced a temporary suspension of the ongoing recruitment of teachers into public primary schools in the state. This followed the huge crowd of job seekers that thronged the headquarters of the board in Ado-Ekiti on Monday. A good percentage of the applicants do not fall into the category of personnel advertised by the board. NAF RECEIVES 21 SPECIAL OPERATIONS DOGS AS K-9 HANDLERS RETURN FROM ADVANCED TRAINING IN SOUTH AFRICA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) today, 6 August 2019, took delivery of 21 Special Operations Dogs acquired from South Africa. The dogs arrived along with their 20 NAF Canine (K-9) Unit handlers who had concluded 13 weeks advanced training in areas such as Explosives Ordinance Detection (EOD), Narcotics Detection and Special Operations. The Special Operations training covered tra cking, rappelling, waterman-ship and terrain training aimed at equipping the dogs and their handlers with requisite skills to operate alongside NAF Special Forces (SF) personnel in Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) and emergency disaster response situations. With the arrival of the new dogs, the NAF K-9 Unit, which was established in 2016 by the incumbent Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, now has a total of 60 dogs. This has significantly boosted the capacity of the Unit for enhanced security at major Nigerian Airports, NAF Units and Theatres of Operation across the Country. IBIKUNL
