 Drama as Mohbad’s wife finally gets served DNA court order on her house gate Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer, Mohbad has been finally served the court order for a DNA test. It was reported that the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu had granted the order that Omowunmi needed to be served a notice of the pending DNA test application. The legal team told the court that the Sheriff of the court had attempted twice to serve Wunmi the court process but failed and the Chief Magistrate then ordered that Wunmi should be served by posting the court process on her last known address. In an update to it, the court order has been finally delivered to her. The court order letter was pasted on the mother of one’s house gate.

Resident Doctors Suspend Nationwide Strike The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its nationwide strike and will resume work on Saturday. The association’s national president Innocent Orji confirmed the development on Friday evening. “Good evening. We just suspended the strike. Work to resume 8 am tomorrow,” he said in a terse message to Journalists. “We will review the progress made in two weeks.” The move is coming days after the doctors suspended their planned nationwide protest to press home their demands. According to the NARD chief, the doctors are pushing for eight things including the recruitment of more persons to replace doctors who have migrated or those who passed on. “Our members are suffering. Nigerians are suffering too. When you don’t have the right number of doctors in the hospital, there is no way it is not going to affect the healthcare service delivery system. Bijimi, representing Giwa West Constituency, said bandits are consistently attacking villagers in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State by taking advantage of a damaged bridge. I Was Simply Doing My Business, Hotel Owner Caught With Drugs Argues Against Arrest By Police The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has taken to the social networking app X (formerly Twitter) to share the story of a lounge owner recently arrested by his men for allowing guests to smoke the hard drug known as Colorado in her lounge. According to Hundeyin, Friday, the owner admitted to knowing her guests were smoking but insisted they had suppliers who provided them with the drugs in her lounge. This, according to her, exempts her from any crime. "We arrested people smoking ‘Colorado’ & ‘loud’ in a lounge and the lounge owner too. The owner admits she knew it was hard drug but didn’t get it for them. A supplier brings it to them in her lounge. She insists we shouldn’t have arrested her as she was just doing her business." Hundeyin continued on his Twitter page, asking followers if the lounge owner is in the right or wrong.

Tribunal sacks Kano House of Reps Member, Yerima over fake certificate The National and State House of Assembly elections petition tribunal, in Kano on Thursday nullified the election of member representing Tarauni Federal Constituency at the house of representatives Muktar Yerima. Yerima was declared winner of the February 18th 2023 election under the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Hafizu Kawu. The former member of the House of Representatives, Kawu petitioned the tribunal, challenging the legitimacy of Yerima’s victory on the basis of a fake certificate. Delivering the judgement on Thursday, the three-panel Justices upheld Kawu’s petition and nullified the sitting NNPP member’s election.

The democratically elected president of the Niger Republic, who is currently being detained, was ousted by a military coup d’etat on July 27. Kalu, the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, said in a statement on Thursday that Nigeria should not join ECOWAS’ plan of military invasion. He said Nigerian soldiers should not die in another country because of war. Kalu said Nigeria could support ECOWAS with finance but not with soldiers.
