 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

  Arising from the dangers, the risks and the rising cases of fatalities occasioned by road traffic crashes recorded at night, the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi has advised fleet operators, other commercial drivers and patronisers of night trips, including private vehicle owners to desist henceforth from it, emphasising that night trip which is often characterised by poor visibility, fatigue, sleeping on wheels, excessive speed among others is not only unsafe, but utterly dangerous. According to Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Public Education Officer, Oyeyemi gave the warning while reacting to some reports of fatal crashes recorded at night at the beginning of the year, which led to the death of several road users and left others with different degrees of injuries.   The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, today, 9 January 2021, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Air Marshal Nsikak-Abasi Essien Eduok. The late senior officer, who died on 6 January 2021 at a hospital in Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State where he was receiving treatment, was the 12th CAS. Air Marshal Abubakar, who was received by the deceased’s spouse, Mrs Uduak Nsikak Eduok, lauded the sterling virtues of the late former CAS, stating that he was an exceptional General who contributed significantly to the development of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The CAS also paid a condolence visit to the Akwa Ibom Government House to commiserate with the Executive Governor of the State, Mr Udom Emmanuel, over the sad demise of the late Air Marshal, who was also a former Minister of Aviation.   …says 30 testing centres approved across state Owners of private health facilities in Oyo State have been warned against managing COVID-19 cases in their facilities, as this has been linked with the rising cases of the infection in the state. The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) and the state's COVID-19 Technical Task Force, on Saturday, gave this warning, noting that there are approved 30 Testing Centres including the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, for the purpose of testing samples. It added that those suspected to have symptoms of coronavirus infection should be referred to these centres for testing and that testing for symptomatic or suspected cases is free.   President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolences to former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Babangida Nguroje over the death of two of his sisters, Zainab and Hajiya Hadiza with her husband and their four kids, who all perished in a road accident. Reacting to the incident, the President said "I am lost for words to describe such multiple deaths in a single car accident in which family members perished." OGUN UNCOVERS UNAUTHORISED FLYOVER BRIDGE IN OMO FOREST,ORDERS DEMOLITION.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

  Ogun State Government has detected and ordered an immediate destruction of an unlawful flyover bridge undergoing construction across Oluwa River, a boundary between Omo forest, Area J4 in Ijebu East and Ondo State. The Commissioner for Forestry, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, who led a monitoring team to Laagan Village, where the unauthorised construction of about 50 meters long bridge was located, commanded the settlers to pull it down within two weeks before the next monitoring exercise that would come up on the 21, this month.
