 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

EFCC ARRESTS NINE SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN MINNA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

         The Abuja Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC) has arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters in Minna, Niger State. They were arrested following intelligence volunteered to the Commission by concerned residents of the area. The suspects were picked up by the operatives of the Commission at their hideouts in Room 202, Seftec Hotels, behind NNPC’s mega petrol filling station, Minna, Niger State, for their alleged involvement in a love scam and other internet related crimes. The suspects are: Ohanuka. O. Samuel, 26; Adebayo Adeyinka Samuel, 26; Omoh Simeon, 25; Igah Abumere, 28 and Ajobo Sunday, 26. Others are Abdukadir Musbau, 20; Iredia Johnson 29, Aliyu Abdulazeez, 25, and Adebisi Temitope, 27. Items recovered from the suspects include, one Toyota Venza with registration number, laptops and exotic phones. The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.More photos below.

CASH SMUGGLING : COURT JAILS TWO LEBANESE,FORFEITS UNDECLARED SUM OF $890,000.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Port Harcourt zonal office on Thursday, August 20, 2020, secured the conviction of Chamseddine Waell Mohammed and Dina Jihad Khali who both pleaded guilty to separate one count charge of money laundering preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The offences run contrary to Section 2 (3) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as amended) and punishable under Section 2 (5) of the same Act. Both defendants were sentenced to two years imprisonment by Justice I. M. Sani of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The first charge read: “That you Chamseddine Waell Mohammed on the 1st July, 2020 at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Port Harcourt within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did fail to make a declaration of the sum of $220,000.00 (Two Hundred and Twenty Thousand US Dollars) hid in your Luggage on board a chartered flight with registratio

NIGERIA POLICE INVITES LAGOS APPLICANTS FOR PHYSICAL SCREENING ON AUGUST 24.{PHOTO}.#PRESS RELEASE.

       Lagos State indigenes, who applied for employment into the Nigeria Police Force as Recruits, will undergo physical screening at the State Police Command, Ikeja on Monday, August 24. A statement issued today by the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy advised all shortlisted candidates to arrive at the screening by 8a.m. All applicants, who have already been contacted via email by the Police, should report at the State Command with the following documents: National Identity Number (NIN); original and duplicate copies of credentials as well as a printout of their Application Profile Page. The exercise will be conducted for two weeks - from Monday, August 24 to Monday, September 7, 2020. While wishing all applicants luck during the interview, the statement urged all applicants to always respect the COVID-19 safety guidelines issued by the Federal and State governments.

HERDERS ATTACKED BROTHERS IN BARKIN LADI LGA, PLATEAU STATE.{PHOTOS}.

         On Sunday, 16th August 2020. a Fulani herdsman attacked and severely injured two brothers in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state. Narrating the incident to Stefanos Foundation, Mr. Victor Samuel who owns a farm in Rakung, Gassa Village said he came into his farm on Sunday, 16th August 2020 and found Fulani herdsmen grazing his cows on his farm. According to Mr Victor, he asked the Fulani Herdsm en to leave his farm but they did not. They only apologized and changed location and still continued to graze on the farm. He confronted them and insisted that they pay for damages. Mr Victor told Stefanos Foundation that the herdsmen apologized but refused to pay and started leading their cattle out. He further stated that he proceeded to call his brother, Davou Samuel, who came and intercepted them. We ate our simple food (tuwo) in the same plate and cracked jokes all through our dinner, it was like a communion. The best part was the time we started sharing the meat. It was all FUN. The small pieces of meat shared among ourselves was sweeter and more satisfying than a whole cow served to one man alone. LIFE CAN BE AS SIMPLE AS WE MAKE IT. Here in SIA MOVEMENT, we are one FAMILY.
