 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

COVID-19: LSWRC EMBARKS ON HAND WASHING ADVOCACY TO BANKS,MOTOR PARKS AND OTHER PLACES.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     The Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LSWRC), on Tuesday, embarked on advocacy to financial institutions, motor parks and other public places across the metropolis to sensitise residents on the importance of hand washing with soap under running water to flatten the curve of COVID-19 in the State. Speaking during the exercise, tagged “Stop-The-Spread”, Executive Secretary of LSWRC, Mrs. Funk e Adepoju said the advocacy was geared towards arousing the consciousness of residents to take responsibility and support efforts of the State Government to curb further spread of the global pandemic. 60 COVID-19 PATIENTS DISCHARGED TODAY IN LAGOS.[PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Today, we discharged 60 COVID19 Lagos patients; 40 males and 20 females, from our Yaba, Eti-Osa and Ibeju-Lekki isolation facilities to reunite with their families and society. The patients, 31 from the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, 19 from the Ibeju-Lekki and 10 from Eti-Osa Isolation Centres were discharged having fully recovered and tested negative in two consecutive readings. With this, the number of COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully manage d and discharged in Lagos is now 321. It is important that we do the right things at this time. FIRE OUTBREAK IN A STOREY BUILDING TODAY IN ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

    Today 5/5/2020 at about 9:am, there was a fire outbreak at a Storey building belonging to Late Chief Bernard Okonkwo of Umudunu village,Abagana in Njikoka LGA of Anambra State. Following the distress call,Police patrol team led by DPO Abagana Division CSP Prince Ugochukwu Ezejiofor rushed to the scene and alerted the fire service department who responded swiftly and extinguished the fire. Meanwhile, the Area was also cordoned off by the Police to prevent hoodlums from taking advantage of the situation to loot.Cause of fire is yet unknown and properties worth millions of naira were destroyed. Consequently, no loss of life and no casualty recorded.        Today being 05/05/2020 at about 7:30am,a metallic ash coloured Toyota Verso SUV with Lagos Reg/No. LSD 73 FE reasonably suspected to have been stolen was abandoned by unknown persons along Jubilee road Igboukwu in Aguata LGA of Anambra State.Police operatives attached to Igboukwu Division recovered the Car to the Station.
