 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. EFCC ARRESTS 6 SUSPECTED INTERNET FRAUDSTERS IN ABUJA.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.

     Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested six suspected Internet fraudsters in separate raids carried out at various times across a number of locations in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. The suspects: Chemezie Valentine Ezeife, Onwochei Chibuzor John, Onwochei Joel, Marvin Nwankwo, Prince Ojenike, and Jude Olatekobowale, were arrested following a tip-off. Ezeife was arrested on January 16, 2019 at the Life Camp residential area in Abuja, following intelligence reports of shady activities traced to him. Among items recovered from him were a Mercedes Benz C300, Toyota Camry and Lexus Jeep, Seagate hard drive, four laptop computers, an ECOWAS international passport, various wrist watches, two iPhones and blackberry phones, and a Samsung phone.       Lagos State Government has commenced the process of ensuring that the fruits and vegetable sector in the State is sanitised in order to guarantee the safety of consumers. To this end, the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), in collaboration with other relevant Ministries and Agencies of Government, has initiated a project to ensure that the handling, packaging, and display of vegetables and fruits  are done in accordance with acceptable standards. Speaking at the inauguration of the committee members recently at Ikeja, the General Manager of LASCOPA, Mrs. Kemi Olugbode said that the essence of the committee is to technically look into ways and means of managing the prevalent issues in the handling and marketing of fruits and vegetables so as to ensure that only healthy products are sold to consumers. EFCC NABS PASTOR FOR N27.9M FRAUD.{PHOTO}.

      The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, arrested Anu Ojo Olakonori, a self-acclaimed Pastor and founder of Angel on Guard Ministries for a N27.9 million fraud. Olakonori was arrested following a petition by the victim. The complainant alleged that sometime in 2016, she was introduced to the suspect by a pastor of hers in Bauchi for prayers and cleansing because of the difficulties she was going th rough at the time. The suspect under this guise started requesting for money from her and she made transfers to him in different tranches amounting to N27, 900,600 (Twenty Seven Million, Nine Hundred Thousand, Six Hundred Naira) only. Investigation has also revealed that the suspect used the said sum to purchase various properties – house and cars, for himself. He will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

According to his friend, O.D Nwankwo who took to Facebok to mourn him, Eze was a barber and also a footballer in Dubai. He was playing football with his friends when he slumped and died. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly, he died before medical help could get to him.
