 Fuel scarcity bites harder in Abuja, Ondo, Osun, others • Independent marketers sell PMS between N625 and N799 per litre There is no succour yet for motorists and other petrol end users despite the Thursday statement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) that it had resolved the logistic problems that sparked the supply crisis. Reports from across the country yesterday showed that many filling stations had no fuel to sell. Some sold over and above the threshold of N650 per litre while motorists and other buyers besieged the few ones that sold within the range of N600 per litre. While many petrol stations in Lagos sold fuel at the normal price and queues were not noticeable, it was a different story in the industrial town of Ota, Ogun State where some filling stations hiked their pump price to N799 per litre. "Like I stated in my previous post that I was going there to eat only, my intention was to go and eat and watch the cooking marathon, but when I got there, I met another thing. We were actually two who went together. Follow me as I gist you. We got there and met some people outside, we asked for the exact place and they directed us to the ushers.  We got there and we were told there's VIP and regular. Regular are those downstairs and won't eat out of the food while VIP are the ones upstairs and have access to take pictures and videos of the chef and still eat food. They further added that VIP costs #1,000. We asked if the 1k covers the 120hrs or just 24hrs and they told us it covers just today, that we're going to eat all the food she will prepare. We made transfer of #2,000 into their account and entered. We met like 5 other VIP guests while I was the only female to join them with the person that went with me. Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has applauded President Bola Tinubu’s suspension of Godwin Emefiele as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Last night, President Tinubu suspended Emefiele and directed him to immediately hand over to the Apex bank’s Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) Folashodun Shonubi. Reacting to the development, Wike who was one of the critics of Emefiele’s policies, especially the Naira redesign, described the President’s decision as bold and timely. The former Rivers State Governor also commanded President Tinubu for approving uniformity in the retirement age and pension of judicial officers in the country, according to a statement by his media team. He said the President’s action will introduce a new lease of life to the nation’s judiciary. Wike noted that he and other G5 members are impressed that the President is showing “focused and exemplary leadership that will lead the county to prosperity.”

A Nigerian student wants to break Guinness World Record for longest movie watching marathon The current record is held by Suresh Joachim (Sri Lanka) with 121 hours and 18 minutes. He shared his application to the international organisation a few hours later. No date or location has been announced yet. Adebiyi's eyes are set on a Guiness World Record currently held by Suresh Joachim (Sri Lanka) with 121 hours and 18 minutes. He set the record in Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 13, 2015 as part of a competition with 10 contestants in a pop-up cinema. The films were reportedly streamed and the cinema was open to the public so other people were in attendance for parts of the attempt outside of the 10 contestants. Adebiyi joins the growing list of Nigerians attempting to break world records, the latest being Adedamilola Adeparusi and her assistant, Jeremiah Adegoke, who are aiming for the longest cooking marathon in Ilupeju, Ekiti.

Plateau gov, Mutfwang, swears in 17 transitional LG chairmen Governor Caleb Mutfwtang of Plateau State, on Saturday, swore in transitional chairmen for the 17 local government areas of the state. The Deputy Governor of the state, Mrs Josephin Piyo, represented Mutfwang at the ceremony held at the Government House, Jos, the state capital. According to the governor, the exercise was necessary to ensure that no vacuum existed in his administration. It will be recalled that Governor Mutfwang, had on June 1, suspended all democratic structures in the 17 local government areas following the recommendations of the Plateau House of Assembly. Edo State Government Reduces Schooling Days To Three Days Per Week Amid Fuel Subsidy The Edo State government has disclosed that public basic and junior secondary schools in the state will operate three days in a week, beginning from June 13. It’s Ethnic Cleansing, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Condemns Emefiele’s Suspension   The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, on Saturday, condemned the suspension of the the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, describing the action by President Bola Tinubu as a sign of ethnic cleansing. Presidential Tribunal Dismisses Obi, LP’s 12 LP Questions  The Presidential Election Petitions Court has refused the 12 interrogatories by Peter Obi and the Labour Party (LP) to INEC technology experts used in the February 25 presidential election. The five-member panel of justices led by Justice Haruna Tsammani on Saturday held that the application was made out of time. Kwankwaso Responds To Ganduje’s Slap Threat June 10, 2023 Former Kano State Governor and Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed assault threats made by Ex-governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
