 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

2 FRAUDSTERS WERE SENTENCED TO 110 YEARS TODAY IN A KANO FEDERAL HIGH COURT.{PHOTOS}

                       Justice J.K Omotosho of Federal High Court Kano,today November 24,2016 convicted and sentenced the duo of Emmanuel Moyi a.k.a Abba Musa Bello and Victor Ali Ishaya to sixty years and fifty years imprisonment respectively on six count charges of offences bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretence.The convicts journey to prison started when the commission received a petition from of victims alleging that the convicts obtained several sums of money from them under the guise that they were going to give them employment and contract.The convicts succeeded in their fraudulent activity through phone calls with different GSM numbers and phony names.After the victims have parted with huge sums of money through different bank accounts supplied by the convicts they realised they were being duped.However,further investigation by the EFCC revealed that those accounts were specifically opened by the convicts in order to perperate their fraudulent activiti

PRESIDENTIAL PLANE CRASHED TODAY IN MAKURDI.{PHOTO}

                 According to PM news,one of the presidential planes handed over to the Niigeria Airforce by the Presidency,Augusta AW101,has crashed within the Airforce base in Makurdi,Benue State.The $21 million presidential jet was given to the Nigeria Air Force by the presidency two months ago.A military source at the base confirmed that the crash occurred on wednesday and that there was no casualty.He said the flight engineer who was the only one on board,had landed the jet at the base and was to be parked in the hanger when it suddenly moved up and then crashed.He added that it was not that serious but that the flight engineer sustained minor injury.

                                                     The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC yesterday wednesday,November 23,2016 arraigned the quartet of Colonel Nicholas Ashinze,a former special assistant to the embattled former National Security Adviser,Col. Sambo Dasuki; an Austrian,Wolfgang Reini; Edidiong Idiong and Sagir D. Mohammed before Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal High Court,Abuja on a 13-count charge of corruption and money laundering to the tune of N36.8billion.Ashinze and his co-accused were arraigned alongside five companies accused of allegedly diverting huge sums from the office of the former NSA.The companies are: Geonel Integrated Services Limited,Unity Continental Nigeria Limited,Helpline Organization,Vibrant Resource Limited and Sologic Integrated Services Limited.The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them.In view of their plea,counsel to EFCC I.O Uket expressed readiness for trial to commence immediately saying
