 Fubara faults ex-Rivers HoS over claims of sponsoring assembly bombing, others Suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has dismissed claims of sponsoring attacks on oil pipelines and other assets in the state levelled against him by former Head of the state civil service, Dr. George Nwaeke. In a Friday news briefing, Nwaeke claimed that Fubara ordered the bombing of the state House of Assembly complex in 2023 to prevent his impeachment by lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. He alleged that Fubara gave a bag of money to his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie to facilitate the Assemblyā€™s bombing. The ex-HoS further alleged that similar attempt was made to destroy the residential quarters of the House of Assembly members but was thwarted by a press conference held by Rivers youths, elders, and National Assembly members.                        Justice J.K Omotosho of Federal High Court Kano,today November 24,2016 convicted and sentenced the duo of Emmanuel Moyi a.k.a Abba Musa Bello and Victor Ali Ishaya to sixty years and fifty years imprisonment respectively on six count charges of offences bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretence.The convicts journey to prison started when the commission received a petition from of victims alleging that the convicts obtained several sums of money from them under the guise that they were going to give them employment and contract.The convicts succeeded in their fraudulent activity through phone calls with different GSM numbers and phony names.After the victims have parted with huge sums of money through different bank accounts supplied by the convicts they realised they were being duped.However,further investigation by the EFCC revealed that those accounts were specifically opened by t...

PRESIDENTIAL PLANE CRASHED TODAY IN MAKURDI.{PHOTO}

                 According to PM news,one of the presidential planes handed over to the Niigeria Airforce by the Presidency,Augusta AW101,has crashed within the Airforce base in Makurdi,Benue State.The $21 million presidential jet was given to the Nigeria Air Force by the presidency two months ago.A military source at the base confirmed that the crash occurred on wednesday and that there was no casualty.He said the flight engineer who was the only one on board,had landed the jet at the base and was to be parked in the hanger when it suddenly moved up and then crashed.He added that it was not that serious but that the flight engineer sustained minor injury.

Sambo Dasuki; an Austrian,Wolfgang Reini; Edidiong Idiong and Sagir D.
