  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. Kuje jailbreak: NDLEA arrests wanted terror suspect with drug in Abuja Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested one of the wanted terror suspects who escaped from the Medium Security Correctional Centre, Kuje, following an attack on the facility by insurgents last week in Abuja. Late Osinachi’s husband, Peter Nwachukwu, Escapes From Kuje Prison   Peter Nwachukwu, the husband of the late gospel singer, Osinachi, has managed to escape from the Kuje Prison in Abuja. Peter Nwachukwu, was one of the inmates who escaped during last Tuesday’s terrorists’ attack on the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja by the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). “During our roll call yesterday, we discovered that the husband of the late gospel singer was missing,” a senior prison official told SaharaReporters. A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Wuse had on June 3 remanded Nwachukwu at the Kuje Correctional Facility, pending the hearing and determination of the homicide-related suit instituted against him by the Attorney General of the Federation.
