Tonight’s event is the coming out ball for “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” Part two of curator Andrew Bolton’s in-depth look at American style, the exhibition explores the work of famous names in fashion (Halston, Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, etc.) and those that have been overlooked (like Ann Lowe, the African American maker of Jacqueline Kennedy’s wedding gown), with approximately 100 garments presented across 13 of the Met’s American period rooms, each of which has been styled by renowned film directors, from Martin Scorsese to Julia Dash, Sofia Coppola to Chloe Zhao.
