                    Senate President Bukola Saraki shared on his social media some pictures as they welcomed the body of Ambassador Maitama Sule.He captioned all the photos ''This evening,I was humbled to join Governor Ganduje and other dignitaries to receive the body of the great Danmasannin Kano,Ambassador Maitama Sule.May the soul of the dear and departed Statesman be granted Al Jannah Firdaus''.Kano State government declared today tuesday July 4,2017 as public holiday to mourn his death.He died at a hospital in Cairo Egypt,where he was receiving treatment for an illness.The funeral prayer was conducted at the Emir's Palace,Kofar Kudu,around 4pm today.May his soul rest in perfect peace Amen.More photos below.

                      A former governor of Jigawa State,Senator Saminu Turaki was this afternoon,July 4,2017 arrested by agents of EFCC.He was picked up at the venue of the public presentation of a book on Brigadier Zakariya Maimalari,the first regular combatant officer in the Nigerian Army,in Abuja.Before the arrest,EFCC has had to declare Turaki wanted for failing to present himself for trial since 2011 on 36 counts corruption charge before the Federal High Court,Dutse.The court had issued a warrant directing the Inspector General of Police or his officers and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commssion to arrest Saminu Turaki and bring him before the court.Justice S. Yahuza gave the order after Turaki consistently failed to attend trial.But attempts to execute the warrant failed as Turaki remained elusive.On May 19,2016 operatives of the Commission acting on a tip-off had stormed the 16 Denis Osadebey Street Asokoro,Abuja home of the former governor but he slipped through their hand

                    Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,have commenced investigation of nine suspected oil thieves,who were arrested by the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base Bonny,Rivers State and handed over to the Commission for further investigation and possible prosecution.The suspected illegal oil bunkerers are being quizzed in the Port Harcourt's zonal office of the EFCC.The nine crew members onboard the vessel {MT Lady Swithin} are: Engineer Tony Edumesaro,Olu Gbenga Obebe,Lucky Oshogbon,Erete Moses,Steph Olu Peters,Raphael Olu Peters,Gillis Ibinabo,Ikechi Nwanyanwu and Ernest Iyalla.They were handed over to the EFCC by the Commanding Officer,FOB Bonny,Captain S.W. Olorundare.While handing over the suspects and the vessel to the EFCC,Olorundare said that the Nigerian Navy Ship OLOGBO,while on patrol on January 13,2017,arrested MT LADY SWITHIN along Calabar offshore,conveying about 300,000 litres of products,suspected to be Automotive Gas Oil {A

                                                            Troops of Joint Task Force,Operation Delta Safe {OPDS} has over the weekend conducted successful raid operations on identified local arms manufacturing hideout in Arhavwarien Kingdom of Ugheli South in Delta State.The Commander OPDS Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman disclosed this to newsmen in Yenagoa during a Press briefing session today.The Commander represented by Commander Sector One,Colonel Moses Gara revealed that during the operation,3 principal suspects were apprehended following a shootout with the suspects.They are; Mr Isiyaka Uchuko,Mr Ese James and Mr Elvis Philips.Items recovered from them include;13 Short barrel local made guns,5 Double barrel local made guns,10xlocal made pistols,3xlive cartridges,one empty catridge and 2 x Rounds of 7.62 millimeter special ammunition.Admiral Suleiman said in another development,following a tip off,troops arrested one Mr Mathew Okafor,50 years old in coction with the buying and sell
