P-SQUARE ORDERED TO PAY N25M FINE BY SUPREME COURT. (PHOTO)

 P-Square ordered to pay N25 million fine by Supreme court P-Square members, Peter and Paul Okoye, along with their brother Jude Okoye, have been directed by the Supreme Court of Nigeria to compensate a promoter with the sum of N25 million. The court’s ruling favoured Mr. Patrick Arueze, who accused the musicians of violating a contractual agreement. Arueze had invited them to perform at a show in Benin City in 2011, but they failed to appear, prompting him to file a lawsuit against them at the Edo State High Court presided over by Justice Esther Edigin as she then was, for a breach of contract. Attempt by the Okoyes to reverse the judgment through a motion dated 3rd of October, 2016 was dismissed by the court. Dissatisfied by the decision, the artistes filed a motion of stay of execution at the Court of Appeal, Benin Division which was dismissed and they later issued a cheque through one of the commercial banks. 24th October,2021      Tears of joy flowed freely as 16-year-old Joy Abahi Amuh of St. Paul Secondary School, Otukpo Benue State, was handed the cash prize of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000) for emerging the Best Graduating Student (of Benue State origin) in the 2020 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) organised by West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC). SlayQueen has landed herself in prison.. This lady met a man on Facebook. They chatted and agreed to meet in a hotel. They met and she was paid. Unknown to the man, she videoed him. She then used the video to blackmail him asking for N15 million. He refused. She then spread the video on Facebook. He reported to the DSS, they arrested and charged her to court.  Her bail alone is N5 million plus landed property. This happened in Yenagoa. The district head of Batsari (Sarkin-Ruman Katsina) in Katsina State, Tukur Mu’azu Ruma, has said bandits fleeing from the onslaught in neighbouring Zamfara and Kaduna states are infiltrating and taking over farming communities in Batsari local government area of Katsina State. According to him, the current onslaught is causing hardship and starvation for the bandits in the neighbouring states, forcing them to ransack communities within his chiefdom to seize foodstuff and other valuables belonging to innocent residents of the area. Speaking with journalists at his palace in Batsari, he said many farmers in the local government were not harvesting their crops due to the activities of the bandits, and in some areas the bandits are the one doing the harvest instead. The Katsina State Police Command has succeeded in arresting two armed robbers camouflaging as officers of the Nigerian Army and Police Force to rob unsuspecting members of the public of their valuables. The two suspects identified as Yahaya Armaya’u 35, (alias KOFUR) and Bashir Isiyaku 32, (alias SOJA) both from Yar-Kaware village, in Kafur LGA of Katsina State, were paraded before pressmen on Friday at the State police command. The suspects, both partially dressed in Police and Army uniforms, riding in a Golf motor vehicle, went to Mahangi village and attacked one Zaharadin Yau, of Sheka village in the same Kafur LGA of the State. Posing as military and police officers, respectively, the suspects intimidated him with handcuff and eventually robbed him of his Boxer motorcycle worth over two hundred thousand naira (N200,000). Panic has set in among prospective corps members in Zamfara State following the abduction of some of their colleagues on their way to their orientation camp in Tsafe Local Government Area of the state. Although the police confirmed the abduction of two prospective corps members along the Sheme-Tsafe highway in the state, witnesses said about six others were missing from the incident that occurred on Tuesday. The Tsafe hosts the National Youth Service (NYSC) orientation camp in Zamfara. The police said a joint search and rescue operation was ongoing to rescue the abducted corps members and other victims. The police spokesperson in the state, Muhammad Shehu, in a statement, said the police commissioner in the state, Ayuba Elkana, has visited the camp and assured NYSC officials of the safety of corps members in the camp.
