 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

January 28, 2022 Press Statement PDP Extends Tenure of Anambra Caretaker Committees  The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the extension of the tenure of the various Anambra State Caretaker Commitees for a period not exceeding 30 days. The decision of the NWC is in exercise of its powers under the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended). To this effect, the current members of the Anambra State Caretaker Committees are to continue in their respective capacities for an additional duration not exceeding 30 days, beginning from the expiration of the present tenure on February 6, 2022 to March 6, 2022. Thursday, 27th January, 2022 will always be remembered by Ndi Anambra and lovers of South East Nigeria development. On this day, Airpeace Airlines, owned by Anambra- born Chief Allen Onyema landed a Boeing Embraer 195 E2 aircraft at Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri. The airline and United Nigeria airline, also owned by Anambra -born High Chief Dr. Obiora Okonkwo have been operating small aircraft into and out of the airport in line with regulatory approval.  However, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had in a letter to Governor Willie Obiano dated 24th January, 2022 given its approval for the airport to operate Boeing 737-700 aircraft or its equivalent.  Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, accompanied by some members of the state executive council and other guests was on hand to witness the history making landing, and excitedly shook the hands of the pass

Anambra Commissioner For Women And Children Affairs, Mezue Visits 98-Year-Old Widow Whose House Was Pulled Down By Stepsons In Umunze Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue has visited the Nwafor family of Imeohia, Ururo, Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area, where a bungalow being erected by a stepson for his 94-year-old stepmom was reportedly pulled down by other stepsons and their accomplices. The visit followed a directive by the state government to immediately intervene in the issue, to ascertain the reasons for such heinous action and seek timely solution. A lady has come out to claim that some ‘yahoo boys’ got involved in a fatal accident after mocking Portharcourt based clergyman, Pastor David Ibiyeomie. This comes after the Salvation ministries Head pastor said Internet fraudsters who scam people and buy cars with the fraudulent money, will have accident in those cars. Early Friday morning, January 28, a lady known as Archibomg Kemkem took to her Facebook page to share a chat she had with someone claiming that some Yahoo boys who were mocking the pastor over his curse on them, had a fatal accident and all died except the cab driver who didn’t ‘mock’ the clergyman. The lady claimed the incident happened in Rukpokwu area of Port Harcourt. She captioned her post; “Don’t Insult any Man of God for no reason. If you don’t like what he is saying or said. Don't Collect Money From Yahoo boys - Pastor Ibiyeomie He said, “Internet fraud must stop in Nigeria. Police, all those ‘yahoo boys’, jail them arrest them. If you take bribes from ‘yahoo boy’, you policeman, that money will kill you. Do you know why? “They stole from somebody who died and you collected the money. Then you and your family will die with it. Police, stop taking that kind of money but arrest them and jail them. It is blood money.” Ibiyeomie noted that some victims of fraudsters have died due to the amount of money they lost to scam. “It is a demonic satanic way of getting money.
