Anambra Committee Finds Mmesoma Guilty Of Forging JAMB Result, Recommends More Punishment  The Anambra state Committee of Inquiry set up to investigate Mmesoma Ejikeme’s case has found her Guilty of Forging JAMB result. The committee in a report released yesterday and titled REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY ON MMESOMA EJIKEME MATTER recommended more Punishment, noting that she manipulated the result using her phone. The report signed by the Commissioner for Information Anambra State, Sir Paul Nwosu reads “The Committee of Inquiry set up by the Government of Anambra State to thoroughly investigate the JAMB/Mmesoma’s matter has submitted its report. Awka South Keke Chairman Sues Osita Obi Over Defamation Of Character  The Chairman of Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Awka South Chapter, Hon. Prince Collins Ozojiofor (alias Snoop) has institute a case of Defamation of Character and Blackmail against one Mr. Osita Obi of Umuawulu Town in Awka South LGA. ICPC arraigns Road Safety Official, others over Fake Certificate The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Achigili Raph Ogili and two others, Sunday Okpara and Rasaq Abdulrahaman Dabiri, over allegations of conspiracy and falsification of documents. The trio were arraigned before Honourable Justice J. E. Obanor of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court 29 sitting in Jabi, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. TROOPS RESCUE 24 KIDNAP VICTIMS, ELIMINATE ABDUCTORS IN SHOOT OUT Troops of 223 Battalion, operating under Sector 1 of Joint Task Force, North West Operations Hadarin Daji have in a rescue operation conducted in the early hours of today 7 July 2023 rescued 24 kidnap victims, including a child, after a shootout with notorious bandits at Kabugu Lamba; an abandoned village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara state, North West Nigeria. State Government Intervenes on Oba Landslide By Okoli Sunday Anambra State Government has intervened to rescue the gully erosion that has eaten up a lane of Onitsha - Owerri road (Oba section). The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma who visited the site said that the State Government is moving immediately to arrest the situation and prevent further devastation. According to Mr. Commissioner, " We have a very urgent, critical and emergency situation as the road is about to be cut into two.  "The road belongs to the Federal Government, but if we leave it like that, there would be lost of life and properties of Ndi Anambra, and so, Mr. Governor directed immediate arrest of the situation while we wait for the Federal Government". COURT ORDERS DSS TO RELEASE OCHE, GAJIR, BENUE LG CHAIRMEN 7th July, 2023     The Federal High Court in Makurdi has issued an order directing the Department of State Security Service (DSS) to release the four local government chairmen who have been detained in Benue State. The Presiding Judge, Justice Abdu Dogo, granted the order while ruling on an ex-parte application brought by counsel to the chairmen, Joseph Oche. Veronica Gajir (Ushongo), Alfred Atera (Katsina-ala), James Oche (Ado), and Mike Usah (Guma) have been in detention since responding to an invitation from the DSS earlier this week, with the reasons for their detention yet to be disclosed. Six Suspected Cultists killed in Rivers Community Rivers State Police Command has arrested six Kidnappers and killed six other suspected cultists at Obelle town in Emohua Local Government Area of the State terrorizing Emohua Local Government Area section of the East West road. Man kills lion with bare hands in Benue 7th Jul 2023  A 53-year-old man, identified as Mr Iorver Udele, from Ajio clan in Shangev-Ya district of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State on Friday reportedly killed a Lion that attacked him with bare hands at the Ngokugh mountains. Rivers police arrest suspected criminal gang leader, recover human skull, arms 7th Jul 2023  The Police in Rivers State have arrested the leader of a notorious criminal gang simply identified as Ojukwu and recovered a human skull during a raid of his hideouts in the Khana Local Government Area of the state. Aside from the human skull, two AK-47 rifles and a pump action were also recovered in the operation.
