EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

Tinubu 'Sacks' Sen Binani As Campaign Coordinator For Adamawa The presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has fired its elected presidential council’s campaign coordinator for Adamawa State, Senator Aisha Dahiru, aka Binani. Binani was relieved of her duty after the executive committee of the APC in the state rejected her as coordinator and member of the Presidential Campaign Council. Tinubu has hence replaced Binani with a former Adamawa state deputy governor, Martin Babale. This was in a letter signed by the Plateau State governor who doubles as the Director-General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

Ogun: Abiodun flags off $400m agro processing zone  The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Friday, performed the groundbreaking of the development of the Ogun State Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) at the Agro Cargo International Airport, located in Ilisan-Remo. The project with its first phase worth $400m is a collaboration between Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms and Ogun, according to the governor, would be completed in the record time of 18 months. Speaking further, Abiodun said that the special industrial park for agro-processing and allied products is the first of its kind in the country and would generate over 20,000 direct jobs and individual prosperity. Court Gives EFCC Nod to Publish Ekweremadu’s 40 Properties for Forfeiture The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today November 4, 2022, secured the nod of a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to publish an order of interim forfeiture of 40 landed properties belonging to a former Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ike Ekweremadu. Justice Inyang Ekwo made the order while ruling on a motion exparte brought by the EFCC in Suit No.FHC/ABJ/CS/1242/2022. The Commission had approached the court for an Order of interim forfeiture of the said properties which “are subject matters of investigation, enquiry and examination by the EFCC. which are reasonably suspected to be the proceeds of unlawful activity of money laundering committed by the respondents”. It also added that there was need “to preserve the properties from dissipation by the respondents”. N66.5m Oil Fraud:  Court Grants Defendant N50m Bail Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja Lagos, on Thursday, October 3, 2022, granted bail to one Adeleke Fayose, who is being prosecuted for an alleged N66.5m oil fraud, in the sum of N50m.
