 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

For nine hours during the week, the governor held a workshop that took the Fellows through a discourse on McKinsey’s 7-S Framework, a powerful tool and model for Organizational Planning, Analysis, and Diagnosis. Kashim Ibrahim Fellowship (KIF) is a one-year non-partisan leadership training programme for young Nigerians between the age of 25-35 years. The one-year Fellowship aims to create a network of high-potential young Nigerians who are expected to rise to top leadership positions in the public and private sectors of the country. South East Governors To Start Joint Security Patrol In Major Highways Before December. South East Governors have concluded arrangements to commence joint twenty-four hour security patrol in all major highways in the zone before December first this year, as a way of beefing up the security network and restore normalcy in the area. This was contained in a communiqué issued by the South East Governors' Forum after their emergency meeting at Enugu state Government House. The meeting had in attendance five Governors in the zone, Governor of Ebonyi state, Engineer David Umahi, his Enugu counterpart, Right Hon. Ihiala Catholics Writes Pope, Demands New Diocese The parishioners of St Martin’s Parish and the Ihiala Catholic Commu­nity have called on Pope Francis to create a separate di­ocese in the area, which will be known as Catholic Diocese of Ihiala, and will be independent of the Nnewi Diocese. PDP CRISIS: I WON'T MEET ORTOM, SAYS AYU Against the backdrop of the long-running crisis rocking the party, the National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Iyorchia Ayu has vowed he will not make move to meet Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state. Ayu also turned down recommendation by Jemgbah PDP Elders to meet with Ortom to reach a truce. The PDP chairman is also from Jemgbah geo- political bloc. Addressing Jemgbah PDP elders Gboko on Saturday, Ayu turned down the suggestion to meet with Ortom, saying he has no problem with the Governor. Dubai Police supports Inmates with Six Million Dirhams   The General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions has provided financial assistance to inmates worth AED 6,570,399 in 2022.   These numbers were revealed during the annual inspection carried out by Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidli, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering Affairs, when he was accompanied by Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Acting Director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, and other senior officers.   Maj. Housewife Poisons Her Husband To D£ath In Borno, Says “I Hate Marriage” The Borno Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old housewife, Fatima Abubakar, for allegedly killing her husband, Goni Abbah with poison. The Commissioner Of Police, Mr Abdu Umar, who disclosed this to the News men in Maiduguri, on Sunday, October 30, said that the suspect was arrested on October 19 by men of the Command at Anguwan Doki. Umar said that the victim, who was the Chief Imam of the area, returned from the mosque when the suspect, who was the second wife, allegedly mixed poison in his food. The CP explained that as soon as Goni started eating, his condition deteriorated. According to him, the victim was immediately rushed to the State Specialist Hospital where he was given emergency medical attention,  but unfortunately, he later died when they returned home.
