EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

       The Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke and his wife, Grace, on Sunday dedicated their triplets to God at the First Baptist Church, Isiodu in Emohua Local Government Area. The foundation stone for the construction of the First Baptist Church in Isiodu was laid after the dedication service. The dedication service attracted top officials of the Rivers State Government, while Governor Wike was represented Deputy Governor Ipalibo Harry Banigo. Dedicating the triplet unto God, President of Baptist Conference, Rivers State, Rev Benjamin Avor thanked God for his blessing on the family of Engr Chukwuemeka Woke. The Cleric prayed God to protect and guide the triplets as they grow to serve the society. NAF AIRCRAFT NEUTRALIZE SEVERAL TERRORISTS AT THEIR HIDEOUT NEAR BAGA.#PRESS RELEASE.

      The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has neutralized several Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters at their hideout near Baga in Northern Borno State. The attack was conducted yesterday, 29 December 2018, after a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platform spotted the terrorists assembled under some trees around the Fish Dam near Baga.  The ATF therefore dispatched an Alpha Jet aircraft to attack the location. The aircraft multiple attack passes, killing several of the terrorists and causing serious injuries to others. The surviving terrorists were mopped-up in subsequent follow on strikes.        It has been observed that some unscrupulous individuals with likely sinister motives within and outside Borno State, are trying to create panic and unnecessary humanitarian problems for undisclosed reasons. It has come to our attention that these people are plotting to instigate the inhabitants of Bama, Dikwa and Monguno communities to abandon their communities and relocate to Internally Displa ced Persons (IDP) Camps for undisclosed reasons. The inhabitants of these towns and the general public are please urged to discountenance such calls and remain calm.       Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Sunday approved the appointment of Mr. Hakeem Olayinka Muri-Okunola as the 21st Head of Service (HOS) in the State. A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Habib Aruna, said Mr. Okunola’s appointment follows the statutory retirement of Mrs. Folasade Sidikatu Adesoye on December 27, 2018. Mr. Muri-Okunola was appointed as The Executive Secretary, Land Use and Allocation Committee (LUAC), a position he held between 2005 - 2011. Until his appointment, he was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth and Social Development. Governor Ambode thanked the outgoing HOS, Mrs. Adesoye for her meritorious service to the State and wished her well in her future endeavours. OVER 50 CORPSES CAUGHT FIRE YESTERDAY AT ENUGWU-UKWU GENERAL HOSPITAL MORTUARY.{PHOTOS}.

      According to a facebook user identified as Chukwumma Ikenna who shared these photos with the caption '' Over 50 corpses gutted by fire at Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital Mortuary. The Mortuary section of Enugwu-Ukwu general hospital has been gutted by fire and all the corpses burnt beyond recognition. It was said that the fire started at about three o'clock this afternoon and before they could get the fire service, the three -room-morgue had been raised down. The mortician on duty couldn't stop the fire as he was the only person on duty and they couldn't ascertain the cause of the fire though according to the eye witneses, the fire may have come from bush burning as the surrounding is over grown with dry grasses''.More photos below.
