 AU urges de-escalation as fighting displaces over 180,000 in South Sudan’s Jonglei state The Chairperson of the African Union Commission called for immediate de-escalation and strict adherence to South Sudan’s 2018 peace agreement, as renewed fighting in Jonglei State displaced more than 180,000 people and raised fears of further civilian harm. In a statement, African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said he was deeply concerned by the deteriorating security situation in parts of the country, particularly Jonglei, where escalating violence and inflammatory rhetoric have put civilians—including women and children—at heightened risk. South Sudanese authorities estimate the number of displaced in Jonglei at more than 180,000, the United Nations humanitarian agency OCHA said last week. N40m WAS DEMANDED FROM THE FAMILY OF A NEWSPAPER DISTRIBUTOR,WHO WAS KIDNAPPED IN OGUN STATE ON MONDAY.

                  On monday along Ejinrin road,four gunmen kidnapped a female Newspaper distributor Mrs Funlayo Ajayi.The kidnappers in Ijebu Ode Ogun state,have now demanded the sum of N40 million from the family of Mrs Funlayo Ajayi,who is a major distributor for leading Newspapers and magazines in the area.The case has been reported to the police at the Ijebu Ode police Area Command in Igbeba and the Deputy Commissioner of Police,Operation,Akpoebi Egbuson,was said to have deployed the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad to the area to fish out the kidnappers.A family source said that the victim was allowed by the kidnappers to speak on phone to her immediate family members and associates.The family members said she told them that the kidnappers insist on collecting ransom from her,before she will be released.

                These report was sent by my correspondent in California Rowland Okorie,who attended the 11th annual Bash hosted by Chief Dr Ifesinachi Ugwuonye,who happened to be the first female President Enugu USA Association.The host popularly called Sinachi used her home in Orange California on Saturday for the bash {smart}.Sinachi is a well read philanthropist and the founder of Sinach Foundation Inc,an organisation where young girls are given opportunity to gain scholarship through secondary to University level.The annual bash according to Rowland Okorie ''Is for celebration of life and achievements so far and giving God thanks for the past years and coming into New Year successfully.The event gathered numbers and thousands of Igbo communities while some come from different states,and that some includes traditional leaders''.More photos below.                             ...

LATE NOLLYWOOD ACTOR MUNA OBIEKWE,BURIED TODAY.RIP.

                             Muna Obiekwe,who passed away last month January,after he suffered from kidney disease was buried today 3rd of February 2015 at his home town Umudioka Anambra state.He will be greatly missed by his fans,friends,family etc.I am still in shock and any time i watch his movies,i just have to pinch myself back to reality,that Muna Obiekwe is no more on earth but in heaven.Rest in peace Muna,God loves you more.More photos below.
