The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements. The United States on Friday said it was designating six Nigerians for their support of the terrorist group, Boko Haram. This is according to a statement signed by US Department of State spokesperson, Ned Price. “The United States is designating six individuals for their support of the terrorist group Boko Haram,” the statement said. “The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has added Nigerian nationals Abdurrahman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad to the List of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons, pursuant to Executive Order 13224, as amended, for having materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, Boko Haram. “Today’s action follows the United Arab Emirates’ prosecutions, convictions, and designations of these individuals for supporting terrorism.

Police Intercept Armed Bandits On Their Way To Attack Benue Village, Kill Four Operatives of the Benue joint security patrol team code-named 'Operation Zenda' have killed four suspected armed bandits in Ukum Local Government Area of the state, NaijaCover Reports. The bandits were intercepted and killed on Saturday, March 26, while on their way to attack a village called Gbajire in the council area. Those killed include one Solo Orafaga, John Tyoakoso, Jude aka Headboy and another unidentified member of the gang. More photos below.

LOBI STARS FC GETS NEW BOARD MEMBERS The Benue State Government, owners of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi, has appointed three persons into the Management Board of the Nigeria Professional Football League club. The club’s Director of Media, Emmanuel Uja, said the newly-appointed board members have been selected from the state’s three senatorial zones. Moses Kpakor, a former midfielder and ex-captain of the defunct BCC Lions of Gboko, has been picked to represent Zone A, which is Benue North East. Zone B, which is Benue North West, has Alex Awunah as its representative, while Zone C, which is Benue South, has Chris Ikwue as its representative. L

Special services were held today in all the Anglican Churches across the world to celebrate Mothers' Sunday. The Special Sunday celebrated in the communion every fourth Sunday in Lent is to honour mothers for their roles in families and the society.   The services saw mothers in joyful mood as they appeared in different uniforms according to their groups in the church. The women conducted the services, read first and second lessons, and also acted as pastors' and people's wardens, sideswomen and other roles played in the church.
