 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

NIGERIA TROOPS CARRIED OUT MINE & IEDs CLEARANCE + INTERCEPTED 4 FLEEING BOKO HARAM MEMBERS.{PHOTOS}.

                                                                    Following information provided by an arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorist,Lawan Abbai,troops on Operation LAFIYA DOLE yesterday morning carried out mine and Improvised Explosive Devices {IEDs} clearance at Gombori which was along the troops main supply route.The troops located and recovered 2 heavy IEDs buried in the ground by suspected remnants off Boko Haram terrorists.In the process of recovering the deadly IEDs,the troops intercepted 4 fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists that alleged that were on their way to surrender to troops.On preliminary investigation,they were identified as confirmed Boko Haram terrorists members planting IEDs along troops routes by their arrested colleague,Lawan Abbai.Additionally,the troops rescued 5 women and a baby from Boko Haram terrorists at the same general area.-Colonel Ssani Kukasheka Usman,Acting Director Army Public Relations.More photos below.

2 TURKISH SAILORS WERE JUST SENTENCED TO 42 YEARS,AFTER HAUL OF COCAINE WERE SEIZED IN THE UK FROM THEIR SHIP.{PHOTOS}.

                  According to the Telegraph,two Turkish sailors who were caught with the biggest haul of cocaine seized in the UK have been jailed for a total of 42 years.Three tonnes of Class A drug,with a street value of £500 million,was recovered from the ocean-going tug MV Hamal,about 100 miles off Aberdeen.The drugs were found hidden in a specially adapted secret ballast tank in the Tanzanian registered vessel,which sailed from Istanbul to Tenerife and then to the North Sea,where it was intercepted by the Royal Navy frigate HMS Somersey and the Border Force cutter HMC Valiant.Mumin Sahin,47 and Emin Ozmen,51 who were found guilty of drugs offences after a trial at the High Court in Glasgow,were jailed for 22 years and 20 years respectively.The judge Lord Kinclaven told the men the quality of drugs was ''not only significant but massive' and said drug trafficking had a ''devastating impact'' on people and communities.He added ''You were involved

                                According to Reuters,Mehdi Khosravi,an Iranian activist arrested last week in Italy,said today friday he had been released from jail,following an appeal to the Italian government by the son of the deposed shah.Reza Pahlavi,55,whose late father was toppled by the 1979 Islamic Revolution,said in a letter to Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on Monday that Khosravi risked torture and execution if Italy extradited him as Tehran has demanded.Pahlavi posted the letter om his Twitter account.Khosravi,37 told Italian newspaper La Repubblica he had been let out of jail in Lecco,northern Italy,five days after police arrested him on an international warrant for alleged corruption.''These are false and ridiculous accusations to which I will not even respond''.Khosravi,who sayys he fled Iran after getting in trouble with authorities for writing about ''democracy,rights and freedom'' on his blog.Khosravi has lived as a political refu

                 According to sources,the Nigeria football players at the 2016 Olympics have boycotted a training session in the build-up to their Olympic quarter final game against Denmark in a dispute over pay.The players refused to participate in training yesterday thursday until the Nigeria Football Federation {NFF} and Nigeria Olympic Committee {NOC} officials paid them outstanding bonuses and allowances from camping and previous games.The latest incident comes after the players were held up in Atlanta because of a problem with payment for their flight.The team arrived in Brazil just hours before their opening game against Japan.One more photo below.
