EFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34 SUSPECTED CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA. (PHOTOS). #PRESS RELEASE.

 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

PSSDC SIGNS MOU WITH LASU ON CAPACITY BUILDING TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

                 In a bid to strengthen and add value to the already existing collaboration between the Lagos State University {LASU} and the Public Service Staff Development Centre {PSSDC},a Memorandum of Understanding,themed ''THE LASU-PSSDC COLLABORATION'' has been signed by both organizations. According to the MoU,tthe parties seek to collaborate in the provision of learning,capacity building and management development programmes,including the Diploma Programme in Local Government Administration {resident in the Faculty of Management Sciences of LASU and the Directorate of Management Consultancy Services of PSSDC} and other allied capacity building interventions,such as cconferences,seminars,workshops,among others.Speaking at the ceremony,the Vice Chancellor of LASU,Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun stated that the collaboration is a unique pyramid aimed at adding value to the State,stressing that the collaboration is historical as many generations,especially from the

Idris NPM,mni,has approved the release of the promotion of Rank and File who are due for promotion to their next rank.The promotion is part of on-going measures in the Force geared towards boosting the morale of Police personnel towards effective and efficient service delivery. 2. LAGOS NEEDS N60BN TO REVAMP PUBLIC SCHOOLS-AMBODE+REVEALS PLAN FOR A-MEAL-A-DAY PROGRAMME.

                 Lagos State Governor,Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has said that his administration would require about N60billion to give public schools in the State a befitting facelift as well as set up new schools especially in the riverine areas.The Governor,who said this during an interview with journalists,said though his administration has spent about N10billion in the last 22 months to boost the quality of education in the State,there was still a lot to be done in the sector.He said the State Government had carried out a study last year on the interventions needed in public schools and the construction of new ones,assuring that the funds set aside in the 2017 budget for education would be judiciously put to good use.''The result showed that we need about N60billion to put our schools together.But we have started the massive rehabilitation of our schools last year and you can go round to confirm.We expended about N10billion trying to put the worst set of schools back in place.&#

EFCC INTERCEPTS N49 MILLION AT KADUNA AIRPORT TODAY.{PHOTOS}.

             Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,Kaduna zonal office,today tuesday March 14,2017,intercepted a sum of N49million in five large black 150kg coloured BUHU sacks following a tip off.During a routine baggage screening,five sacks were sighted unattended and withoout tags containing fresh bulk items suspected to be money.Upon examination,the bags were found to contain fresh crispy naira notesof N200 denomination in 20 bundles totaling forty million naira and N50 denomination in 180 bundles totaling nine million naira with seal purportedly emanating from the Nigeria Security and Minting PLC {NSPM} as seen in the labeled sealed packs.Investigation into the case is in top gear to unravel the culprits behind the attempted illegal movement of the cash.More photos below.

                                         The Apapa Command of Nigeria Customs Service has impounded a forty foot container laden with Tilapia Fish from Turkey.Addressing newsmen in Lagos,Customs Area Controller of the Command,Jibrin Musa disclosed that the importer declared apples as the content of the container before scanning proved it to be 2700 cartons of prohibited frozen fish.Jibrin told journalists that aside the offence of false declaration,the import also contravened the law as it failed the requirement for licence and quota expected for importers of allowable fish species into Nigeria. He said ''As part of our collective resolve to ensure strict compliance with government import prohibition rule,we recently uncovered an attempt to smuggle tilapia fish into the country.In a bid to evade detection and arrest,the importer made a false declaration that the 1x40ft container was laden with apples.Upon scanning,we discovered this to be untrue as the container contained 2700
