 Edo Mayhem: Police Confirm 7 Deaths, Arrest of 14 Suspects A tragic incident occurred in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State, resulting in the deaths of seven people suspected to be kidnappers. According to Moses Yamu, spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, 14 suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings. The incident unfolded on March 27, 2025, when a truck conveying 25 travelers from Port Harcourt was accosted by vigilante group members at Uromi. Some of the travelers were found with locally made dane guns and were arrested. However, the situation escalated, and 16 of the occupants were attacked and lynched by the vigilantes and passersby. Police operatives swiftly intervened, rescuing 10 of the travelers, two of whom sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment.              Witnesses who fled said today friday that suspected Islamist Boko Haram fighters have abducted dozens of boys and men in a raid on a remote village in northeast Nigeria,loading them onto trucks and driving them off.Halima Adamu a witness who also fled after sunday's raid on Doron Baga,a sandy fishing viliage near the shores of Lake Chad,said militants clothed in military and police uniforms had burned several houses and that 97 people were unaccounted for.''They left no men or boys in the place,only young children,girls and women''.The people they kidnapped are they Ebola free?

NIGERIA AND OTHER EBOLA AFFECTED COUNTRIES BARRED FROM YOUTH OLYMPIC IN CHINA.

             According to the International Olympic committee and Chinese organisers said today friday that ''Athletes from affected areas will not compete in combat sports and also decided that no athletes from the region would compete in the pool.The decision was made with regards to ensuring the safety of all those participating in the games taking place in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing''.They did not reveal nationalities and names of the athletes affected by the decision.According to the youth Olympic website,there were a total of 25 people on the team lists of Ebola hit countries like Sierra Leone,Liberia,Guinea and Nigeria.It was not immediately clear how many of the 25 competitors had already arrived in Beijing nor why only one swimmer had been barred,given that there were three from the affected countries.
