Reacting to the violent clashes, President Buhari said the frequent resort to bloodshed by Nigerians over misunderstandings that can be resolved peacefully, is worrisome. According to the President, “No culture and religion support the disregard for the sanctity of life,” adding that "peaceful coexistence is necessary for the progress of any society and its wellbeing."       The labour unions in Nigeria say they would commence a nationwide, indefinite strike from November 6 if government does not meet their demands. The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, and that of the United Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, stated this in a press statement on Sunday. The labour unions are angry at government’s stance on new minimum wage for workers.      In continuation of efforts to enhance operational responsiveness and effectiveness of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, yesterday, 19 October 2018, activated the 21 Quick Response Wing (21 QRW) at Agatu in Benue State.      Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has berated the APC Federal Government for intimidating the Judiciary through unfounded allegations and trumped up charges.
