 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud.   Justice N.I. Buba of the Federal High Court, Enugu, Enugu State, on Thursday, December 10, 2020, committed Dr Isidore Ojukwu Nwankwo to prison for fraud. Nwankwo, former Rector, Enugu Polytechnic, Ndeabor, Ani-Nri, Local Government Area, was prosecuted by the Enugu Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on six-counts charges, bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretence to the tune of N1,153,700.00 (One Million, One Hundred and Fifty-three Thousand, Seven Hundred Naira), being the amount he obtained by fraud from some students of the school in contravention of Section 1(1)(a) of Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and Punishable under Section 1(3) of the Same Act.   The police operatives attached to Trade Fair Station of the Lagos State Police Command today Friday 11th December, 2020, recovered the missing mace of the Ogun State House of Assembly at Abule Ado Area of the state at about 8.30am. The police operatives, who were responsive, worked on an intelligence from the members of the community that someone in a moving vehicle, suspected to be Toyota Siena Space Wagon, threw out an object into the nearby bush and recovered the object which was later identified to be the Ogun State House of Assembly Mace. The mace had been allegedly stolen from the House of Assembly compex , Ogun State recently.   Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu will go into self-isolation immediately, after one of his close aides tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (10th of December). Mr. Governor and other members of his team will be tested by the Lagos State biobank today but will remain in isolation until the results of the tests are available. We are seeing slightly increasing number of COVID-19 positive cases in clusters in Lagos and all Lagosians should adhere to the prescribed advisories of safe distancing, good hand and respiratory hygiene and avoidance of unnecessary gatherings. This is not the first time Mr. Governor is having the COVID-19 test. He has had at least three since May when he announced that 10 of his aides had tested positive for the virus.   So sad how this beautiful lady {Juliet Chimeremumma Nlemadim Abakporo}  passed away few weeks before her wedding .Her wedding was supposed to on the 30th of December 2020,but she died on the 3rd of December 2020 after a brief illness.She will be buried be buried today Friday 11th December,2020.May her soul rest in peace,Amen.One more photo below.

  Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has advised the Federal Government to include the East – West road among the critical infrastructural projects being funded from the coffers of the nation’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.   Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, have arrested one Williams Michael Ogwezi, also known as Dr. Williams, for parading himself as a staff of the Commission to defraud his unsuspecting victims. The suspect, a member of a syndicate that specializes in forging identity cards of the Commission as well as those of other law enforcement agencies, was arrested in Lagos, following a report received by the Commission from the the Nigeria Police Area Command. Ajah, Lagos Investigation revealed that the suspect had defrauded one of his victims, a lady, of jewelry valued at N10, 000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) before his arrest. The suspect, in his statement to the Commission, confessed to have been involved in the alleged crime. Items recovered from him at the point of arrest include an identity card with inscription of EFCC, EFCC face masks, three laptops, three mobile phones and two vehicles (Lexus and Hyundai Genesis).
