 King Charles III to resume public duties next week after cancer treatment The British monarch, King Charles III, will resume his public duties next week following a three-month break to focus on his treatment and recuperation. A few months ago, the British monarch was diagnosed with an undisclosed type of cancer and has been receiving treatment. However, Buckingham Palace on Friday said the monarch would be visiting a cancer treatment centre on Tuesday, the first of several public appearances he will make in the coming weeks. According to the palace, one of his first major engagements will be to host a state visit by the emperor and empress of Japan in June. TABOO: CARVED WOOD BURIED INSTEAD OF A MAN'S CORPSE ON FRIDAY AT NNEWI,ANAMBRA STATE.{PHOTOS}.

     It was pure drama that took place last Friday during a burial ceremony in Nnewi, Anambra State, after it was discovered that a carved wood was to be buried instead of a man’s corpse. Local reports show that the deceased identified as Sunday Nwosu, died on the 10th of January, 2016, and his younger brother, Ikechukwu, had been telling people that Sunday’s corpse was in the mortuary and he didn’t have money to bury him, yet. But, on Friday, 23rd of November, 2018, Ikechuchkwu invited few friends to a funeral service without the approval of his kinsmen. He brought a coffin containing the supposed corpse of Sunday and instructed that it shouldn’t be opened. The sister discovered the piece of wood However, their younger sister stormed the venue without notifying anyone and forcefully opened the casket.       Lagos State House of Assembly has condemned alleged killings of innocent citizens by men of the Nigerian Custom Service across the State. Hon.       The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on November 26, 2018 arraigned Hajiya Mauro Z. Usman, Mohammed Sani Agae, Isa Alhaji Chado and Jonah Ihie before Justice Aisha Bwari of the Niger State High Court, Minna, on a five-count charge bothering on criminal conspiracy, forgery, cheating and issuance of dud cheque. The defendants were previously scheduled for arraignment on November 8, 2018 but it was stalled due to the  absence of Ihie, the fourth defendant. The EFCC had through its Economic Government Unit, received a petition against some staff of the Government House Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Minna, Niger State, in 2016. Investigations into the petition revealed that on September 25, 2012 the petitioner's company, First Concept Limited went into contract agreement with the Cooperative Society to supply them with 3,000 bags of 50kg Indian Parboiled Rice to their staff as their Christmas bonus for the year 2012.
