 EFCC Taskforce Arrests 34 Suspected Currency Speculators in Abuja Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to the Taskforce on Currency mutilation, Dollarization of the Economy and Forex Malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators  for alleged foreign exchange fraud. They were arrested on Friday, April 26, 2024 in a sting operation following credible intelligence about illegal sales of dollars at the Wuse Zone 4 area of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.   The suspects are :Usman Mohammed, Abdullahi Nasir, Abubakar Saleh, Mohammed Kabir Ibrahim, Abubakar Ghadafi, Muktar Usman, Umar Abubakar Abba, Yakubu Sani, Aminu Abubakar, Muhammed Suleman Abara, Yusuf Tahir, Usman Lawal, Usman Lawal, Usman Umar, Amina Garba Rola, Muhammed Aliyu, Murtala Haruna, Sani Mohammed, Umar Farouk, Muhammed Sagiuru, Aminu Salisu, Lawal Bello, Munzali Hashim, Jamilu Suleiman, Mustapha Umar, Mubarak Tanimu, Adamu Garba, Mohammed Usman, Bello Musa, Saleh Moha

      The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has commended the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilots and other crew members who participated in the fly past and aerial display, which was part of the Ceremonial Parade marking Nigeria’s 58th Independence Anniversary Celebrations on 1 October 2018. The CAS, who made the commendation today, 2 October 2018,  at Headquarters NAF, Abuja while hosting the crew members of the various platforms that took part in the event, lauded the courage, resilience and dexterity of the pilots in effectively executing the mission in spite of the unfortunate air mishap which claimed the life of late Squadron Leader Mohammed Bello Baba-Ari during a rehearsal for the event on 28 September. Air Marshal Abubakar, who could not hide his admiration for the pilots and other crew members for their show of professionalism, noted that the Nigerian populace was indeed appreciative of their efforts and commitment in carrying out their constitution

      Following some  controversial comments  about the Duchess of Sussex, Samantha Markle has issued an apology to the newly minted royal. During an appearance on British show "Jeremy Vine," Samantha said that she "wish[es] things could be different." Though Samantha did express her remorse, she also credited being left out of Meghan's  royal wedding  to  Prince Harry  as the reason for the animosity. "There is so much water under the bridge and so much has spun out of control that was never intended to," Samantha told host Jeremy after he asked what message she had for Meghan. The Depot Nigerian Army in conjunction with Headquarters Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) and Nigerian Army School of Artillery (NASA) conducted the final exercise for 77 Regular Recruite Intake between 25 - 29 September 2018 at FALGORE forest in Kano State. 2.          Rapper Cardi B turned herself in to the police on Monday in New York, where she was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors in connection with a strip club fight from August. Police at the 109th precinct in Queens charged the "Invasion of Privacy" rapper with assault and reckless endangerment, according to the New York Police Department. She received a desk appearance ticket, meaning she was released and will be ordered to appear before authorities at a later date. The charges stem from an Aug. 29 incident at the Angels Strip Club in Queens. According to an NYPD spokesperson, Cardi B threw a chair that hit an "unintended target." "We are not aware of any evidence that she caused anybody any harm at the club that night," Cardi's lawyer, Jeff Kern, told reporters outside the station, NBC News reported.
