The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.   Second KDSG Security Update: Tuesday 1st June 2021 Armed bandits kill two in Birnin Gwari, Giwa LGAs -Nonagenarian commits suicide in Kajuru LGA Security Agencies have reported the killing of two citizens in Birnin Gwari and Giwa LGAs by armed bandits. In Birnin Gwari LGA, the bandits killed one Yusuffa Karami at Maikulu, while one Fanyo Bello was confirmed dead following gun wounds inflicted by bandits at Ungwan Maikuzunniya of Giwa LGA in the early hours of Tuesday. Security agencies also reported that a nonagenarian, Nabara Katoh had committed committed suicide by hanging herself at Gonan Rogo of Kajuru LGA. The aged woman reportedly tied a rope around her neck in a room, and took her life for reasons yet unknown as of the time of this update. Governor Nasir El-Rufai who received the reports sent condolences to their families and prayed for the repose of their souls.   The Lagos State Government has consolidated all payments, fees and taxes for property registration into a single demand notice to make it easier doing business in the State. Speaking at the Y2021 Annual Ministerial Press Briefing, the Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, disclosed that the initiative has led to a reduction in the average number of days required to obtain the Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and Governor’s Consent from 72 to 61 days.   The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 43-year-old Amos Olugbenga Olaniyan for allegedly defrauding people of over N128,000,000.00 (One Hundred and Twenty-Eight Million Naira) in a fraudulent investment scheme. He was arrested following series of petitions by victims. The petitioners alleged that Amos through his company, DHIL Nigeria Limited popularly known as Crime Alert Security Network Investment, persuaded them to invest in a network scheme which offered a monthly 30% returns on investment. According to some of the victims, they were persuaded to invest after listening to the suspect’s weekly radio programme. However, after investing their monies they neither received the promised interest nor get a refund of their capital since 2020. Exasperated, they petitioned the EFCC.
