 Allow court decide Bello’s fate, media office tells EFCC The media office of the former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said the court was yet to prove the allegations made against the embattled former governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Bello’s media office director, Ohiare Michael, on Friday, adding that the former governor did not pay the fees of his children with monies from the coffers of the Kogi State Government. On Tuesday, the Chairman of the EFCC at a press conference, alleged that Bello withdrew $720,000 from a government account to pay his children’s school fees in advance. Following the press conferences receipts of payments of the said fees bearing the names of Bello’s children and those of other family members, who separately paid their fees, have gone viral on social media.                 EFCC,today tuesday,June 21,2016 arrigned Air Vice Marshal Alkali Mohammed Mamu,a former Air Officer Training Command and a member of the Committee for Procurement,Ministry of Defence,before Justice Salisu Garba of the FCT High Court sitting in Maitama,Abuja on a 3 count charge of bribery.Mamu,while being the Air Officer Training Command and member of Committee for Procurement under the Ministry of Defence,allegedly collected a cash gift in the sum of N5.9 million {five million,nine hundred thousand naira} for the purchase of a Range Rover Evoque,$300,000 {three hundred thousand US dollars} and two vehicles {Ford Expedition SUV and Jaguar XF Saloon} valued at N15million and N12 million respectively from Society D' Equipments Internationaux Nigeria Limited,a contractor with the Nigerian Air Force.The offence is contrary to section 17 {a} of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Act,2000 and punishable under Section 17 {c} of the same Act.Justice

                                 Justice Candid Johnson of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere today,June 21,2016,struck out a motion filed against the EFCC by Azibola Robert,a cousin of the former President Goodluck Jonathan,asking the court to restrain the Commission from arresting,detaining or investigating him.The motion was struck out on grounds of lacking diligent prosecution.In the motion,Azibola requested for an order nullifying and setting aside the remand order obtained by the EFCC to remand him,an order directing the Commission to release him from custody,an order of perpetual injunction restraining the EFCC or any person whatsoever acting for/on behalf of the Commission from arresting or detaining him and demand of special damages in the sum of N200,000,000 {Two Hundred Million Naira Only}.Azibola is being investigated by the EFCC for suspicious contracts awarded to him by the former National Security Adviser to former President,Goodluck Jonathan.The investigatio

INSURANCE COMPANIES IS SET TO PAY EACH FAMILY OF THE VICTIMS OF EGYPT-AIR,$25,000.

                  According to Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company Safwat Mesallam said that Insurance companies have agreed to give US$25,000 to each family of the victims of the EgyptAir flight MS802 crash,as an interim payment for the full compensation to be paid to families.Death certificates will be issued in the next two days he said,and the legalities settled concerning who will inherit the money.The full compensation will be determined by the rules of International insurance as applied in similar cases.More photos below.
