 Noise pollution: Lagos seals five churches, 19 hotels The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily shut down no fewer than five churches and 19 hotels over noise pollution between March 23 and April 26  Calculations by our correspondent also showed that no fewer than four markets and shopping complexes were also shut down over noise pollution and other environmental infractions. The churches that have been temporarily sealed include St Monica’s Hall of Our Lady of Lord’s Catholic Church, Christ Rock of Fire Ministry, Wonderful Bible Prayer Ministries, God’s Porch Ministries, and an unnamed Catholic Church Some of the hotels affected are School2bar, Blue Seasons Hotel and Suites, Sulerious Lakeside Hotel, Monero Hotel and Suites, and Lekki Hotel and Suites.            The Ghanaian Government in a statement today said that the Ghanaian authorities yesterday sunday arrested a 36 year old man who carried a weapon into a church where President John Dramani Mahama and his family worship.The unidentified man was arrested after his fidgety and suspicious behavior was noticed during the morning service at an Assemblies of God church in Accra.According to a statement signed by Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah said  ''He was escorted out by security personnel and following a search,the weapon was found''.The statement did not provide other details about the suspect or the weapon that was allegedly found but further said the president and his family were not in the church at the time of the incident.

                                                       According to sources,the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC,on friday,July 24,2015,arraigned six persons before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of the Lagos High Court,Ikeja on a 17 count charge bordering on conspiracy,stealing and forgery.The six accused persons identified as Festus Onile,Olawale Garuba,Abiodun Afainiya,Jayeola Afolabi David,Yewande Adeyemi and Adetoun Kammal,were arrested by the Commission sequel to a petition from a new generation bank which alleged fraudulent transfers and withdrawals of N31 million through ATM and point of sale,POS,from the account of one of its customers.When the charge was read to the accused persons,they all pleaded not.In view of their plea,the prosecution counsel,Abba Mohammed,prayed the court for a trial date and to remain the accused persons in prison custody.However,Seun Adenuga,counsel to the first accused asked for a short adjournment to enable him file for bail.He also prayed th
