Police nab 3 suspected kidnappers, rescue male victim in Rivers The Rivers state police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers, Vincnet Sunday, Ekene Micheal and Mahammed Oluwasegun at Obelle community in Emohua LGA and rescued one Martins, Nze from Akwa, Anambra state. In a statement by the spokesperson of the command SP GRACE IRINGE KOKO said base on credible Information, the Rumuji Police division moblize patrol team on Tuesday 10th January at about 8:39pm raided an uncompleted building used for criminal hideout in Obelle community and rescued the victim.  Three Cult Members Arrested In Rivers One Locally Made pistol Recovered January 11, 2023 Following a tip-off, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit  Bori Annex of the Rivers State Police Command has arrested three alleged members of a cult group terrorising the area.  The suspects namely Mr. Kensuanu Dick popularly known as Aaro,  Mr. Myimaka Olu and one Junior Mbo of Bean Community, were said to have been arrested in Gure community in Khana local Government area of the State. Police said locally made pistol was recovered during a search that was conducted on the suspects' hideout.   The police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police using the following emergency numbers: 08039213071, 08098880134.

Two Bankers Jailed Three Years for N9.4m ATM Card Fraud in Makurdi Two bankers, Agbo John Agama and Edoh Steve were today, Wednesday, January 11, 2023, convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment by Justice Mojisola Olajuwon of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, for conspiracy, aiding and abetting fraud to the tune of Nine Million Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N9, 400,000). The convicts were prosecuted on one count charge by the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC. FRSC INTRODUCES ALCOHOL DETECTION DEVICE To curb incessant road accidents in Bauchi State due to intake of booze and other intoxicants, the state Sector of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, has introduced breathalyser, an alcohol detecting machine, to detect the volume of drugs and beer content in body system of commercial drivers.  Speaking at the administration of the device on commercial drivers plying Bauchi-Kano route at Awala branch Motor Park, Monday, the Sector Commander, FRSC Rs. 12.1, Bauchi, Yusuf Abdullahi, said any driver found culpable will not be allowed to drive.
