 Allow court decide Bello’s fate, media office tells EFCC The media office of the former Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said the court was yet to prove the allegations made against the embattled former governor by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This was disclosed in a statement signed by Bello’s media office director, Ohiare Michael, on Friday, adding that the former governor did not pay the fees of his children with monies from the coffers of the Kogi State Government. On Tuesday, the Chairman of the EFCC at a press conference, alleged that Bello withdrew $720,000 from a government account to pay his children’s school fees in advance. Following the press conferences receipts of payments of the said fees bearing the names of Bello’s children and those of other family members, who separately paid their fees, have gone viral on social media. Police Ban Celebrations, Rallies By Supporters Of Political Parties In Kaduna The police in Kaduna State have announced a ban on celebrations or rallies by supporters of political parties in the just concluded presidential and National Assembly elections. The ban was contained in a statement on Wednesday, in Kaduna, by DSP Mohammed Jalige, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of the command. ”All forms of celebrations and rallies by political party supporters for or against winners/losers of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections has been banned in the state. ”Any deliberate act to violate the ban or cause breakdown of law and order under whatever guise would not be tolerated, as the full wrath of the law would be bought to bare,” the police said. Atiku, Obi should accept election result, I’m sure they don’t want chaos in Nigeria - Shèttima  Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, says the presidential election is the freest and fairest ever conducted in the country. Shettima called on Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), to accept the outcome of the poll. Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa on Wednesday, he said it is important for them to “join forces to rescue our country” to avert anarchy. “In my own understanding, this is the most free and fair election ever conducted like the one on Saturday. It was conducted according to what the law says,” Shettima said.

GENERAL ELECTIONS: POLICE CONFIRM OFFICIALS IN VIRAL VIDEO TO BE INEC ENGINEERS, NO ARRESTS OR SEIZURE MADE The Nigeria Police Force wishes to debunk, in strong terms, the trending news in the media confirming the arrest of some individuals in Maitama, Abuja, with electoral materials and some Bi-Modal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS) machines, by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force. Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), acting on a tip from residents of an area in Maitama who reported suspicious activities, visited the location, interviewed the occupants, and conducted a search on the house. In the course of the search, some electoral materials and BVAS machines were discovered in their possession. Finally, EFCC Arraigns Zaura for Alleged $1.320m Fraud The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today March 1, 2023 arraigned Abdulsalam Saleh Abdulkarim before Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa of the Federal High Court Kano. The defendant, popularly known as A.A Zaura, was arraigned on a four count charge of obtaining by false pretense. One of the charge read “That you, Abdulkarim Saleh Abdulssalam, sometime in August 2014, at Kano within the Kano Judicial Division of the High Court, with intent to defraud, obtained the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00) from Dr. Jamman Al- Azmi when you represented that you have the capacity to partner with him for a joint venture business, which representation you knew to be false, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1[1)(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006, and punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act”.   Zaura pleaded not guilty to the charges when it was read to him.
