  Indian billionaire Gautam Adani charged in US for alleged bribery, fraud Gautam Adani, the chair of Indian conglomerate Adani Group and one of the world’s richest people, whose business empire extends from ports and airports to renewable energy,has been indicted in New York over an alleged multibillion-dollar fraud scheme, United States prosecutors have said. The authorities on Wednesday charged Adani and two other executives at Adani Green Energy, his nephew Sagar Adani and Vneet Jaain, with agreeing between 2020 and 2024 to pay more than $250m in bribes to Indian government officials to obtain solar energy supply contracts expected to yield $2bn in profits. Prosecutors said the renewable energy company also raised more than $3bn in loans and bonds during this period based on false and misleading statements.        Yesterday the 2nd of November 2017,marks the World Day of Safety of Journalists and Safety and Security Watch magazine held a symposium at NECA House,Hakeem Balogun street,Alausa Ikeja Lagos titled ''Safety of Journalists and the challenge of Impunity in Nigeria''.Notable media personal like Mr Emma Agu and others shared their personal experiences.Chairman of the Occassion was Mrs Funke Egbomode ''President,Nigeria Guild of Editors'',Guest of Honour,Rt. Hon. M. Obasa ''Speaker,Lagos House of Assembly'' Chief Host,Hon Steve Ayorinde ''Commissioner for Information,Lagos State.There were also self defence exercise by Road Safety and from the host of the event Dr Amaechi Chinyere who is also the publisher of Safety & security Watch magazine.I was Present at the event and I learnt alot.More photos below.

       Today friday the 3rd of November 2017,Vicsum Private School Ikeja had their cultural day festival earlier within their school premises.The cultural day was titled ''IGBO DAY'' in which every tribe from the eastern part of Nigerian was highly represented.Last year,it was for the Yoruba tribes and they are planning to celebrate all the Northern tribes in Nigeria next year.I really enjoyed myself because there was rich display of the Igbo culture,from their dance,history,outfits,food and drama.Each state have their own stand,where their native food they are really known for were displayed.From what I saw today, am proud to call myself an Igbo Lady knowing that out tradition will never die,it will live from generation to another.More photos below.

FAYOSE DISTRIBUTED GARMENT MAKING & SNACKS PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT TO SOME SECONDARY SCHOOLS.

      The Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose has distributed garment making and snacks production equipment worth millions of Naira to some selected secondary schools in order to make the students self reliant in the future. The event which was held at Olaoluwa Muslim Grammer School Ado Ekiti had in attendance stakeholders in the education sector. Governor Fayose, represented by his deputy, Prof Kolapo Olusola, in his key note address, said that the essence of the school enterprise programme was to allow the students become job creators rather than job seekers after leaving school. He noted that the programme when established in all the secondary schools, Ekiti students would be an asset rather than liability in the labour market. Governor Fayose advised the students to take the practical aspect of their training seriously. He called on the teachers to ensure the safety and maintenace of the equipment. EFCC ARRAIGNS TWO BANKERS TODAY FOR N36MILLION FRAUD IN PORT HARCOURT.{PHOTOS}.

        The EFCC on Friday, November 3, 2017 arraigned the duo of Idakwoji Cyril Ameh and Oboma Chisolm before Justice Adamu Turaki Mohammed of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on a twelve- count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery, uttering and stealing to the tune of Thirty Six Million, One Hundred and Eighty Six Thousand, Twelve Naira only (N36, 186, 012, 00). The defendants pleaded not guilty. In vi ew of their plea, prosecution counsel, N.T Iko prayed the court to grant him a date for the commencement of trial and also prayed that the defendants be remanded in prison custody.In response, counsel to the 1st defendant, Abiye Atorudibo prayed that the court grant him a short date to enable him file an application for bail formally. Counsel to the 2nd defendant, H.D Ibrahim also aligned with Atorudibo. Justice Muhammed adjourned the matter to 22 and 24 November, 2017 for argumemts on bail and ordered that the defendants be remanded in prison custody.
