 STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICERS OF TWO AGENCIES  President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA). The President has also approved the appointment of Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA). Dr. Barikor is an academic and politician. He was a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015, while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval officer and former commissioner in Bayelsa State. The President expects that the new heads of these important agencies will discharge their duties with utmost fidelity to the nation and unfailing adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria. Obile of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State has remanded Sunday Noble, a 25-year-old undergraduate of the University of Port Harcourt, at the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre for impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence. . . The defendant was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Port Harcourt's Zonal office, on March 10, 2020 on a four-count charge.

     Today, the Senate deliberated on a motion on the Need to Integrate Almajiri Education into Modern System of Education in Nigeria, so as to reduce the number of out of school on the streets. It is no longer news that the number of out-of-school children is a big challenge facing Nigeria as a nation, as it constitutes not only social but security problems to the country as a whole. Therefore, it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to ensure that they are enrolled in primary and secondary schools and I am happy that we have began move and onwards doing that today-President of the Senate Ahmad Lawan.

     By Ahmad Tukur March 10, 2020 Barring last-minute changes, arrangements have been concluded for the transfer of the dethroned emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II from Loko village to Awe local government area of Nasarawa State. The Chief of Staff to the deposed emir, Munir Sanusi, confirmed to DAILY NIGERIAN that they have arrived at the Government House for onward movement to Awe. Our reporter observed that the state Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe and his State Security Service, SSS, counterpart, were at the Government House to receive the emir. DAILY NIGERIAN gathered that prominent personalities, including Aliko Dangote, might have influenced the transfer, following concerns raised over the inaccessibility of the present village the emir had been banished to. It was gathered that Awe is better than Loko village in terms of amenities.

      Justice Jude Okeke of a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, Maitama, on March 10, 2020, adjourned the trial of a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, until April 8, 2020. . . Lawal is facing prosecution along with his younger brother, Hamidu David Lawal, Suleiman Abubakar, Apeh John Monday and two other companies, Rholavision Engineering Ltd and Josmon Technologies Ltd, on a 10-count amended charge bordering on fraud, diversion of funds and criminal conspiracy to the tune of N1.1 billion. At the resumed trial, the prosecution witness, a Principal Procurement Officer in the office of the SGF, Aminu Adamu, continued his testimony before the court.

      The Lagos State Government has said that the patient who recently tested positive for Coronavirus will be managed at the Biosecurity Facility of the Mainland Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba.
