 Court Sends Nine Internet Fraudsters to Jail  in Benin City Nine internet fraudsters were on Tuesday and Wednesday April 23 & 24,  2024 convicted and sentenced to various jail terms by Justice Efe Ikponmwonba of the Edo State High Court sitting in Benin City. The convicts are Andrew Ayakanmi Joshua, Obazee Marvellous, Osiobe Joshua, Osariemen Favour, Edosa Ovbokhan, Emmanuel Eramiokhare, Cyril Osagie, Stephen Okiosi Osaiwe and Muhammed Mudesiru Hussein They were jailed after pleading guilty to one-count separate charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, possession of fraudulent documents, retention of proceeds of crime upon arraignment by the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The charge against Eramiokhare reads: “That you Emmanuel Eiramiokhae (m) sometime between 1st January 1 2019 and 4th April, 2024 within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did retain the aggregate sum of N97,392,707.75 (Ninety Seven Million, Three Hundred

NEMA CONFIRMS 16 DIED AND 109 WERE RESCUED AT THE SYNAGOGUE CHURCH.

           Today saturday,Mr Ibrahim Farinloye,the Public Relations officer of National Emergency Management Agency {NEMA}said 109 people who were trapped at the collapsed building in Synagogue church owned by Pastor T.B Joshua has been rescued while 16 dead bodies have been retrieved from the debris.The 109 people that were rescued from the six storey building that collapsed yesterday,was rushed to the Isolo and Alimosho General Hospital,while corpses were deposited at the mortuary.They further claimed that some people could still be trapped in the collapsed building as rescue effort was still on.Rumours going round is that the six storey building collapsed because they wanted to increase it to eight storey.

THE HEAD OF ICT DEPARTMENT IN A BANK,ROBBED THE BANK OF N6.3BILLION.

           Godswill Oyegwa,who worked in the Information and Communication Technology {ICT} Department of a bank {name withheld}.He is now on the run because he allegedly conspired with others and hacked into the bank's computers,disbursing the funds to various accounts as they pleased.Godswill hails from Isoko south Local Government Area of Delta state.Mr Wilson Uwujaren,EFCC spokesman said ''They most likely got through to Godswill because he's an IT person in the bank.One saturday,he took the cyber gang to the bank under the pretext that he was going to carry out some maintenance work,allowing them access to hardware,and they commenced to penetrate the banks database.They increased the balances of some accounts,though no culprits have been arrested yet,the matter is still under investigation.The thieves have not withdrawn the entire sum stated,it was in the process of withdrawing some of the money that they were caught.Some of the criminals are being tracked''
