 ANAMBRA POLICE ARRESTS 26-YEAR-OLD MALE SUSPECT OVER MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND, A SINGLE MOTHER IN EKWULOBIA  The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 26-year old male suspect, Anikpe Valentine Chibuike, in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, Ogechukwu Mmadubugwu, a 35-year old single mother in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of the State. The arrest was carried out by operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, on 7th January 2026. The Command has debunked claims circulating that the crime was committed by persons the suspect owed money, describing such reports as false and misleading. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stabbing the victim in the neck with a knife, an act that led to her death. The incident reportedly occurred at about 12.00 midnight on 9th December 2025. According to the suspect’s confession, the act was allegedly committed over suspicion of infidelity. NEMA CONFIRMS 16 DIED AND 109 WERE RESCUED AT THE SYNAGOGUE CHURCH.

           Today saturday,Mr Ibrahim Farinloye,the Public Relations officer of National Emergency Management Agency {NEMA}said 109 people who were trapped at the collapsed building in Synagogue church owned by Pastor T.B Joshua has been rescued while 16 dead bodies have been retrieved from the debris.The 109 people that were rescued from the six storey building that collapsed yesterday,was rushed to the Isolo and Alimosho General Hospital,while corpses were deposited at the mortuary.They further claimed that some people could still be trapped in the collapsed building as rescue effort was still on.Rumours going round is that the six storey building collapsed because they wanted to increase it to eight storey.

           Godswill Oyegwa,who worked in the Information and Communication Technology {ICT} Department of a bank {name withheld}.He is now on the run because he allegedly conspired with others and hacked into the bank's computers,disbursing the funds to various accounts as they pleased.Godswill hails from Isoko south Local Government Area of Delta state.Mr Wilson Uwujaren,EFCC spokesman said ''They most likely got through to Godswill because he's an IT person in the bank.One saturday,he took the cyber gang to the bank under the pretext that he was going to carry out some maintenance work,allowing them access to hardware,and they commenced to penetrate the banks database.They increased the balances of some accounts,though no culprits have been arrested yet,the matter is still under investigation.The thieves have not withdrawn the entire sum stated,it was in the process of withdrawing some of the money that they were caught.Some of the criminals are being tra...
