 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. NEMA CONFIRMS 16 DIED AND 109 WERE RESCUED AT THE SYNAGOGUE CHURCH.

           Today saturday,Mr Ibrahim Farinloye,the Public Relations officer of National Emergency Management Agency {NEMA}said 109 people who were trapped at the collapsed building in Synagogue church owned by Pastor T.B Joshua has been rescued while 16 dead bodies have been retrieved from the debris.The 109 people that were rescued from the six storey building that collapsed yesterday,was rushed to the Isolo and Alimosho General Hospital,while corpses were deposited at the mortuary.They further claimed that some people could still be trapped in the collapsed building as rescue effort was still on.Rumours going round is that the six storey building collapsed because they wanted to increase it to eight storey.

           Godswill Oyegwa,who worked in the Information and Communication Technology {ICT} Department of a bank {name withheld}.He is now on the run because he allegedly conspired with others and hacked into the bank's computers,disbursing the funds to various accounts as they pleased.Godswill hails from Isoko south Local Government Area of Delta state.Mr Wilson Uwujaren,EFCC spokesman said ''They most likely got through to Godswill because he's an IT person in the bank.One saturday,he took the cyber gang to the bank under the pretext that he was going to carry out some maintenance work,allowing them access to hardware,and they commenced to penetrate the banks database.They increased the balances of some accounts,though no culprits have been arrested yet,the matter is still under investigation.The thieves have not withdrawn the entire sum stated,it was in the process of withdrawing some of the money that they were caught.Some of the criminals are being tra...
